Okay, I've totally been wondering where you were at! Glad as is well, you look GREAT girl!! :) Totally amazing! Keep it upt! You have to keep us posted about the rollar coaster trip! I want to go on one once I lose about 30 lbs and get in the 100s! I'm still scared that they will make me get off the ride again. That was humiliating! LOL :) *hugs*
U look awesone, been following u for about 2 month now and congrats on your progress. I was supposed to go in for gastric bypass on 8/14/09, but I chicked out. I'm a rn and the malabsorption and potential deficiencies are really freaking me out. I have been rescheduled for 9/14/09 but I don't know which way to go. Anyway, congrats again and continued success with your weightloss.
Congrats on the 220s I cant wait,I have been bouncing in the 230s,and I need the 220s to come on already, but i will let it come when it comes,i have no choice, keep up the good work, glad your feeling better,Sherlita
I want a bodybugg didnt know if it would be worth it. I would love to see what you think in a month or so. You are looking great....you are closer to your dreams 4 sure......
I'll keep you updated on how I like it. I really like it now, but it still feels fairly new. Right now it's a cool toy and it's nice to see how much I'm burning during my workouts.
Eating in the Light of the Moon is such a good book. I had to read a book before I could get a referral from the psychologist for approval for surgery. You look so good, I'm so proud of you. BTW, I LOVE Goapele.
That's great that they made you read it. I didn't get much out of it the first time I read it, but now I think it's great. I just discovered Goapele, but I'm loving the music.
What great information! I haven't heard of that body bugg....I will have to check it out! Thanks! CONGRATS on the loss! You are doing amazing!! I'm terrified of roller coasters, so you have fun with that! haha! :D I'm glad you are doing so well! :D
Lol, I'll try to have fun with the roller coaster. I think I've only ever ridden one and I was a kid. I hope I like it. The body bugg is neat, not necessary, but neat to have. I hope you're doing well.
I'm betting you can't see the changes we see in you! You look great, healthy, and beautiful! Don't forget, what you're burning in physical activity needs to be added to what you're burning just being alive (breathing, etc.). Or does it already account for that? I am so glad you mentioned exercising. I am having the hardest time with that but it helps for me to hear my friends keep praising it's results. I MUST DO IT regularly and not sporadically.
How's the exercise going? The body bugg calculates total calorie burned including exercise and what's needed to maintain your body. It's pretty cool. You're probably right about the changes. I catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror and I'm shocked sometimes. It's a good feeling. I hope you're doing well. Much love and many hugs!
OMG your look younger everytime you do a video. Great job with the exercise and getting the body bugg. Now note: If you ride a roller coaster take Dramamine an hour before. You might get motion sickness. I did, hahahahaha
You get more beautiful with each video you post. Thanks for the chat on exercise. I'm trying to force myself to get into the habit and having a terrible time! My next birthday (July) goal is to ride a roller coaster, too! 220 lbs? I bet you'll fit - can't wait to hear what you finally decide to do! Great weight loss numbers! Again I am reminded of the importance of exercise...I can be very hard headed! Have a great week!
Thank you for the nice compliment, it made me smile. There are times when I can't believe I enjoy exercise so much. It's a trip to think of where I was even a year ago and how it was a struggle to just try to walk for 30 minutes. So crazy!
wow mj.....i'm still in the 180's so looks u gonna pass me up!! lol!! so, congrats and hey if u pass me i will be jealous but happy 4 u 2!!! congrats!!!!!!!
Hey Ms. MJ - just wanna start by saying you are looking AMAZING. & you look much smaller than 220. You are getting so TINY :o) & congrats on the new deltoids.
I like the idea of taking different classes - it sounds like they add enough diversity to your routine to minimize the likelihood of significant plateau'ing.
After my surgery (this fall) I wanna start swimming & water aerobics a few times a week. Have you done it - if so how did it work out for you?
Thanks, lol, I'm loving my new arms! I did water aerobics years ago and I loved it. I had a really great instructor (former army guy) and he was awesome. It was such a hard workout but fun too. I don't know how to swim, but I've heard it's a good workout too. That's on my list of things to do. I'm thinking classes are definitely the way to go. They challenge your body in ways a machine just can't.
I got it from 24 hour fitness online. There's a coupon code you can do a search for that gets it for $189 or it's on sale for $199. The digital display cost an extra $99, but isn't necessary. There's a link in the info box next to my video, that should help. I think you can probably purchase them at 24 hour fitness gyms, but I'm not 100% sure. I've also seen them on ebay. I hope that helps.
As far as the BodyBugg is concerned it has its ups & downs. My sister has the Body Bugg system & I have the Gowear Fit system. (gowear fit & body bugg are by the same company bodymedia - they have slight differences, but nothing major)
I got my system from amazon @ the beginning of the year & they had a special. If purchased together, you could get the armband & display for $199. (gonna post another comment about the ups & downs of the system)
In regard to the ups & downs - MJ addressed the most significant pros in her video. As far as the Gowear fit system is concerned, in addition to tracking calories it also serves as a pedometer & also tracks your sleep.
As for the cons - the armband may irritate your skin. This has happened to me personally. It was so bad that I woke up in the middle of the night thinking something was biting my arm. Gauze or some other barrier can alleviate/prevent the discomfort.
One other pro, when I purchased my system they had a special where you can activate the armband for free for 6 months (not sure if they still do that).
The downside is if you don't renew your subscription, the armband is USELESS. It works w/ the display for a short while, but after about a week it stops working. It stops because its memory is only big enough to hold approximately a week of info. So if you don't upload the info from armband to a comp, it won't hold anymore info & won't work :o/
Great points. I'll add the the pedometer feature doesn't seem to be completely accurate. I wear an Omron pedometer on my waistband and the steps are usually off by a few thousand. Thanks for sharing this info! I've been scouring youtube and message boards reading about others' experiences with it.
Yeah I noticed many of the numbers from the armband RARELY matched up to my pedometer count.
Have you noticed that your digital display may say one thing, but once you sync the armband to the comp the numbers from your display will differ from what the computer says? (calories, steps, minutes of activity, etc...)
Despite all of that I'm going to reactivate my armband after I have my surgery. I think it is going to be a great asset - especially once I have my tool in place. (my vsg) *EXCITED*
I haven't noticed that the digital display says a different thing, but I'm not really paying close attention. I usually don't upload my data for a few days and by that point I forgot what the display said. I really like having it. I think it will be a great tool to go with your vsg. It really is fascinating seeing a weight loss or gain and how that compares to the actual calories I'm consuming.
Glad to see that your upbeat!! I wish I had your motivation in regards to exercise. I still can't get my butt to the gym and I need to because my thighs move like jello. lol I do walk but not enough tp burn a good amount of calories.:( Where did you purchase your new toy? And you look great and your skin looks so flawless. Thanks for sharing your smile with the world.
Lol, my thighs still move like jello, i guess jello covered muscles. I got my body bugg from 24 hour fitness online. If you go to the bodybugg link, click on 24 hour fitness. I think you could probably purchase it at one of their gyms too. Thanks for the compliment. I have to say I love what the camera does for my skin, lol.
hey Gorgeous!! you look absolutely fabulous! this trip is a crazy ride, right?
i hope you get to go on some fun rides and have the time of your life..
as for c25k.. as with anything, if you don't have a goal for it, it does get old, which is why some of us pick "races" to do, otherwise our brains arent in it, and that is important..our brain has to be connected along with the body.
Thanks Jane! A race is a good idea. I guess it really didn't feel like I had a goal I was working toward. This journey is crazy and wonderful and scary and so many things :)
Go MJ! Hubby and I were soooo happy to go to amusement parks this summer and do stuff we couldn't before. Super fun! Good to see your beautiful smile again! take care - jenn
