respectfully, cyndi did not deserve to win this award...because she makes one blues album in her career as opposed to mr. perkins and willie smith making it their entire career, for her to have won would have been a joke...pinetop played and toured with muddy waters, eric clapton, the stones, bonnie raitt, sonny boy williamson, taught ike turner and on and on and on...cyndi is good and cut a nice album, but it doesn't top a 97 year old dude still bringing the heat on piano!

I would have loved Cyndi Lauper to win this one. Memphis Blues is such a great record and Cyndi definitely had deserved to be recognised!
