I have the 4.3L and same speed, it cuts out. I like to see both engines to there fullest once, just to see how fast top end they are. Both are strong engines.

Nothing its all stock, but its a base Z85 2wd so its a lil faster than the fully loaded colorado's

The I5 is a really strong motor and sounds awsome too! The Colorado/Canyon is a fast truck with it. I love driving my Mom's '07. I don't understand why some say it's underpowered. It feels so much faster than the Ranger 4.0L V6 that my Dad had.

OMG!, that is on par with a 5.7l Tundra reg cab truck. I was looking at a parts runner or something cheap- seems like the I5 does good even though it should have a 5 spd trans instead of a 4 spd one.

In 2007 it went from like 3.5L to 3.8L or something. 220hp to like 242hp or something. I've drivin both... BIG difference. Can't imagine what the 5.3L would be like

I know its the aluminum block 5.3 too so it won't weight much more and gives you 50 more horsepower.

The Chevy Colorado have 5.3L V8, 295 hp, 317 foot-pound! V8 is Faster than v6 or I5!

But your truck is not bad!! I5 cyclinder still powerful engine!

you do know that you can max that bad boy out if you turn your emergency flasjers on. it disables the governor or somethin but if you turn the emerg. flashers on it doesnt stop at 100. at least thats the way it works on my 99' f-150.

My Mom just bought a new Canyon 4x2 regular cab I5 and it feels very quick. I havn't floored it at all, but it definitely doesn't have to work hard to scoot!
