  • Great Video...can you possibly tell me where the coolant sensor is on my 2000 Honda Accord EX 4cyl? Also will I need to drain any coolant to replace it? Thanks!

  • The coolant temperature sensor for your 00 Accord is located to the left of the upper radiator hose (where it goes into the cylinder head).

  • @canobd2 can you please tell me where it is located in my 2005 Ford Explorer

  • The coolant temperature sensor for you 05 Explorer is located just behind the thermostat housing (where the upper radiator hose goes into the engine).

  • thanks

  • where is my ect on my 2000 reg ford focus zetec 1.8

  • Your 2000 Focus uses a cylinder head temperature sensor instead of a coolant temperature sensor and it's located on the back side of the engine near the alternator.

  • Thanks to the makers of this video. Very helpful.

  • Thank you so much!

  • where is the sensor for a 98 cavalier? I got error code p0118 and not sure how to diagnose or fix please help I live in CA and can't smog with engine light on??

  • What engine is in your Cavalier?

  • Where is the sensor for a 1997 Mercury Grand Marquis (v8)? Do I have to drain coolant to change this sensor and will i need silicon sealer? Thanks

  • The coolant temperature sensor for your Grand Marquis is located on the front of the intake manifold to the right of the thermostat housing. You can use Teflon sealant on the threads to prevent leaks. You can replace it with out draining the coolant however you will lose some coolant.

  • Do you know what size deep socket I would need for a 2000 Toyota Camry ECT?

  • It should be a 17mm deep socket.

  • working on any new vids?

  • Yes, should have them up soon.

  • @hp11208 Cool, thanks.

  • can you tell me where to find this on a 97 subaru legacy? thanks!

  • If your Subaru has a 2.2L engine the Coolant temp sensor is located in the water pipe under the intake manifold (on the passenger side tucked behind the bypass hoses).

  • @canobd2 thanks for the reply canbd2,i found it. im still overheating. i blew the heating core and need to temporarily bypass it so im looking for the hoses that connect to the heating core to connect them until i can replace it and hopefully i wont overheat and i will still have circulation. also my sensor didnt have any silicone or anything on the threads,is it really important? should i take it back out and apply the silicone?

  • You should be ok without the silicone; I would not pull it back out.

  • @canobd2 thanks for the reply!

  • maybe u can help me? i have an audi a4 2002 1.8 quat. according to the service codes the engine temp control sensor is bad. ive been told its on the bottom end and not the coolant sensor on the topside firewall, is this correct? and how do i go about fixing this issue???? thank u!!

  • The coolant temperature sensor should be on the back side of the cylinder head (next to the fire wall). It is a little tight trying to remove it. Good Luck!!

  • @canobd2 i wass wondering if you know where the sensor is located at,i also have an 2002 audi a4,but mines is a v6 3.0 and i cant find it,please if u know let me know thank u!!!

  • Can you tell me where temp sensor is on 99 Ford Windstar 3.8?

  • The coolant temp switch for your Windstar is located on the top rear (throttle body side) of your engine.

  • Nice video. I am having trouble finding the sensor on a 1990 Toyota 4runner v6 4x4. I bought a sensor from Orielly's but I think it was the wrong one. I looked on their website and see the part listed with 2 different connectors, and I am unsure if I purchased the right one. Furthermore I think I located where the sensor is, but I am not sure. Any help would be appreciated.

  • The coolant temperature sensor for your 4Runner is located on the top back side of the engine (next to the fire wall).

  • where is the sensor on a 99 ranger 3.0?

  • The engine coolant sensor for your Ranger is located to the right of the thermostat.

  • well my friend just drained-flushed and back flush the hellout of the 92 Dakota and it looked like a coffee brewer on crack lol.Got her all running clear, but seems to still be running to hot for normal conditions,so how do I know if my fan clutch is bad?and if I need to get into the RAD to unclog would I be better off replacing since its factory?I have been fixing/replacing alot to get her all back in shape and was done seems until this one thing kicking my butt,HEP ME PLEASE!

  • When the truck is cold (like first thing in the morning) you should be able to spin the clutch fan and it should have some resistance. If it spins more than 1 1/2 times it's probable bad. If the fan binds, does not turn, and or is seized then it's gone bad. As far as replacing the radiator you can get a new factory radiator, aftermarket new one, or even a remanufactured one. Good Luck!!

  • thanks will do and post back a + result hope. Thanks for the reply and the video on ECT,made it much easier to change!I do know if it has NOT been flushed in years but water was green, not rusty looking so figured alright

  • Well I changed my ECT sensor and thermostat on my 92 Dakota 5.2 and it still runs about 3/4 hot when driving in town or highway.I have no water leaks anywhere so what gives?I also changed water pump a few months ago.

  • Make sure your radiator is not clogged; also check your fan clutch.

  • thanks for video bro

  • I have looked and can't seem to find the sensor on a 1991 dodge dakota V8. Can anyone help?

  • The coolant temperature sensor for your Dakota should be located behind the alternator (left side).

  • The coolant sensor for your Cavalier is located on the outlet coolant pipe on the rear of the engine (transmission side).

  • Where is the temperature sensor located in 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT V6. The check engine light came on a couple days after engine overheated due lack of coolant, p0115 code was detected on the hand device that I plugged in. On a positive side, the car started throwing heat inside within a couple minutes after starting, before it used to take atleast 15 min of driving. Could it be related....

  • Where is the sensor on a 2005 chevrolet equinox?

  • The coolant temperature sensor for your Equinox is located on the right cylinder head (passenger side) back side next to the fire wall.

  • wow easy! so glad i didnt have to take my nissan sentra to the dealership! anyone working on sentras the radiator drain plug is on the same side of the battery. the sensor is by the alternator.

  • Where is the sensor on a 2000 Ford Focus SE?

  • Your 2000 Focus uses a cylinder head temperature sensor, which is located in the cylinder head between the upper timing belt cover and the alternator.

  • 2000 pontiac firebird 3800 V6 A4 (automatic). Help please? (location? do I still have to drain coolant and everything else described in this video, turn radiator "petcock"?)

  • The engine coolant temperature sensor on your 2000 Firebird is located under the throttle body, on the front of the engine. You do not have to drain the coolant just make sure you refill the radiator when you’re done. The petcock (drain cock) is located on the bottom of the radiator (this is used to drain the radiator).

  • @canobd2 thanks a lot man, so I do still have to drain the radiator? Or can I just remove and replace?

  • I not sure as to what your working on, but you typicaly do not have to drain the coolant it may make a bigger mess if you don't. Goog Luck!

  • @canobd2 so i do have to drain the radiator?

  • You can just remove and replace, just top off the radiator when you’re done.

  • I have an 89 cavalier v.6 automatic. When its cold it runs fine. When its warm or after warming up on a cold day and at a stop, it idles wildly and will die. If you give it gas before it dies, it will run normal but only as you hold the gas down, even just the smallest bit. It drives fine for the most part. Would this mostly likely be the temperture sensor acting up? My second guess was the fuel pump.

  • @eishiba

Here are a few things that I would check:

    1. Any stored codes in the computer

    2. Idle Air Control Valve

    3. Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Valve

    4. Clogged EGR ports

    5. Coolant Temperature Sensor

  • @canobd2 If I read the codes manually, without any special equipment will it tell me whats wrong? Ive never read codes before. I know I find the computer and...do something to it lol and wait for a light on the dash to flicker. According to how it flicks determines the error code. I'm still learning.

  • @eishiba My 1995 suburban was doing that. It turned out to be the intake manifold gasket leaking. I hope I'm wrong, it's a pain in the butt to fix.

  • a clean job!

  • I CANT EVEN SEE ANYTHING!!! UGH!!

  • please can some one tell me where the coolant temp sensor is on a ford focus 2.0 litre dual overhead cam please

  • @XoATHANSiAXo Can you tell me what year it is? Or better yet, if you can give me the VIN, I'll have all of the info I need.

  • We need more videos like this of different things.
