@Mattietee3777 I would put Lennon's death, the way he died and his loss to the musical world as much greater. Even though both are sad and undeserving.
@linchpin313 Very quite possibly the same way we found several recordings of me jamming on my guitar at a local studio, All about 4 years after I stopped recording. My recording was on "backup tapes". Stuff that gets tossed or thrown out after the real tapes are "certified and ready to roll". Sometimes these backup tapes can record longer or never stop recording as a way to make sure a "really good take" doesn't only have one copy. We had solo's and riffs on there I thought were never recorded.
One of my old teenage girlfriends back in the day was in love with Randy Rhodes. She saw him in concert in Ft.Wayne, Indiana shortly before his untimely death..Ozzy has always had great taste with his front axe men. They all had big shoes to fill after Randy died.
Even after all of these years....watching him hear this for the first time...you can tell..he will never be happy until he is playing with Randy again...
I would have loved Ozzy to turn around at the end and be like..."That was actually me there, i was playing that on bobby's bass, don't ask me how" haha
@allybuchan1 or better still playing that with his Bobby! (look up what Bobby is in Scotland, if you don't know you must be a C.B.E. = Complete Bell-End!).
@harveydents I think that's kinda unfair, really. They each had different styles. I think if Randy had lived, he would have gone on to be a classically trained guitarist and they'd be in different worlds, really.Randy was quite complimentary of Eddie and Eddie has had some nice things to say about Randy. It wasn't really a competition and isn't a competition. Eddies played some great rock stuff over the years, he AND randy BOTH changed the face of rock music.
@dannyeglen Right, but he was constantly learning. He'd take lessons in every town the tour stopped in. It's just that the comments only let me fit in so much. I'm sure he'd have gone on to incredible things in the world of classical music. I even think he would have gone on to work with metal and rock musicians, much like Michael Kamen did.
@loganb31 Considering a lot of that is pretty standard Randy stuff, odds are he'd heard it before and just couldn't remember due to the passage of time (and memory loss). Sounds like the solo Randy used to play at Quiot Riot shows when he was in the band.

There are too many kids who don't listen to old heavy metal anymore, and it's slowly dying out.
All of this shitty screamo has replaced it, but a few neo-classical metalheads still remain.
John Mayer will be remembered as well, though. He's a pretty big star today, and it's been much more than 15 minutes of fame.
