  • this video sucks! i'm sorry, but you should use better pictures... i can barely read the words

  • This is not so good for teaching young children, because the song is too fast (words pronounced too fast) at the beginning, especially for ESL young students.

  • @miaselly You're absolutely right. This song is not for TEACHING the colors. Once a child knows his colors, however, it can be used for reinforcement, for word recognition, or, as it was in my own case, for a concert or kindergarten graduation.

  • you spelled colour wrong.

  • @roryfitzpatric

    colour=British English spelling

    color=American English spelling

  • @Grancie48 trololol

  • YOU DON'T C BLACK IN DA RAINBOW THUMBS UP

  • Thx for making this :D xD

  • @Grancie48 They learned me wrong in school! D:

  • @hazgirl22 they mustve taught you bad grammar aswell. What a bad school.

    not learned-taught

  • c'est cool alors!

  • my friend!

  • Scince when is indigo blue, like in the rainbow they did???

  • its for kids... daaaaaa...wtf whit the coments.....KIDS

  • why not first explain to the kids that colors are made in the eye?

  • :)))))))))))))))) this is so nice i was moving my head to right and left as i was listening to this :)

  • GREEN AS THE SUMMERS GRASS THATS... ON THE GROUND

  • colors in my crayon box

  • I needed this vid to remind me what colors where in the rainbow. XP

  • @michellexespio ok I had to post this.. . A rainbow is composed of the entire spectrum of colors of visible light, from the longest wavelength, red, to the shortest wavelength, violet. Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet. 7 colors of the Rainbow. That is the 7 colors of the rainbow in order.

  • Is it strange that this gets me confused?

  • There are no words in the English language that rhyme with the words orange, purple, or silver. If I don't miss my guess, it seems there is some sort of bias against colors here. Do you think this is considered racist, i.e., is our language itself, literally racist?

Hint: if you think the above paragraph was at all constructed in seriousness, you are probably a racist. AND, you're biased against humor, which is against the laws of gravity.

  • @cvg1099 Guilder rhymes with silver.

    So does builder.

  • @cvg1099 I like you. xD

  • I<3 PIE!!!!!do a pie song

  • what happened to pink?

  • Black is not a color,

It is the absence of color.

  • @88TigerCat88 In light, yes. In pigment, no.

  • @88TigerCat88 It is actually a base of a color, as is white. That's how you get different shades of a color.

  • Since when has the color BLACK been in a rainbow!? And is this a man? A woman? A... I DuNN-WANNA-KNOW!

  • since WHEN WAS THE COLOR BLACK IN A RAINBOW!? And is this a man? A woman? A... I DONNWANNAKNOW!

  • black is not a colour i tis a shade...

  • what a horrible voice, really, really fake

and black color is not the child learn nothing of .. as it was intended, p

  • @LoveelyMy ????

  • @Grancie48 exactly. How can someone understand that??

  • TRIPLE RAINBAO!!!!

  • Indigo? Violet? WTF?

  • @dancer99ism did you just ask what is violet !

  • @TheMaggerable He was wondering why Violet and Indigo is inside

  • @dancer99ism dude violet is purple

  • whin was black ever a color

  • DOUBLE RAINBOW!!

  • @Grancie48 Well, they were for some time, including when I was growing up, but that had more to do with Newton and others wanting seven colors to match the major musical scale. There really isn't much reason to separate indigo out otherwise, and indeed it's being phased out of modern science textbooks. While this ruins a perfectly good mnemonic, it makes sense.

  • @durlan Interesting. Thanks for the info.

  • Comment removed

  • WHAT HAPPENED TO THE THUMBS BUTTON?!?!?!

  • This is my fav song now! >.<

  • why was this in my Suggestion box when i was listening to final fantasy music......

  • How did I get here from Sephiroth's theme?

  • @metalmathias53498 My guess would be the word "children".

  • I searched "Children of Bodom" .... :D:D Sounds abit like it

  • I searched "Children of Bodom" .... :D:D Sounds abit like it<33

  • colours* ;)

  • i am addicted to this song and i'm 14 >.<

  • im in my 30s....

  • 3 primary colors, 3 secondary colors, and infinite shades of each as well as the absence of color and the mix of all colors.

  • How many colours are there?

  • or maybe permission to use the video in my lesson. We're not going to teach these lessons, it's just for a grade right now, but we've had to promise that when our first weeks of school, in our own classroom, come around, we are supposed to teach this Family Thematic Unit to create a classroom community. I saw this video and thought it would be a great supplementary activity to my part of the lesson plan. Please let me know ASAP. Thanks :)

  • @CrispinzMom Send me a YouTube message with this information so I can reply.

  • @Grancie48 I sent it. It should be in your inbox

  • Hello, I'm an early childhood major and I'm working with a group to put together a first weeks of school thematic unit plan about Family. We're tying the concept of diversity, creating a classroom family, and learning class rules & procedures for the year. One of my lessons has a lot to do with how our differences unite us. I'm using the book "The Crayon Box That Talked" and other crayon related activities. I was wondering if I could have permission to include the lyrics of this song

  • Colors, colors, what a lovely sight.

    Colors everywhere, beautiful and bright!

Lmao, I'm singing this song and I'm 16! Lol!

  • @Grancie48 =D

  • Is black a color?

  • @Starfish2483 no its a shade apparently :S

  • Yaya! I finally know my colors! My mom is gonna be soo proud!:)

  • @iDance190

Good for you. Now you can practice tying your shoes. (lol)

  • @Grancie48

ugh. Don;t remind me. ive been trying for weeks!..... :|

  • YAYA! I finally know my colors! My mom is gonna be proud:)

  • .........Why?

  • @92calwood, no (colours) is how australians/british spell it.

    americans however spell it (colors)

  • You spelt Colour wrong

  • @92calwood also canadians spell it colours

  • @92calwood You spelled 'spelt' wrong.

  • lol

  • What happens if I'm a daltonist?

  • Red then orange, yellow comes afterwards,

do i choose green or blue blue blue blue?

    indigo then VIOLET

  • i got this from searching true colors: glee?

  • @reneroxyxoxo25 I found it ln the suggestions box for 'Ice T- colors' lol =P

  • WHAHAHAHHAHHAHAHHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

  • i like coulers but tis is horible

  • i thought this was the "rainbow colors" rap about purple drank lol :)

  • i liked it but it was blurry and hard to see

  • @melar54 Sorry. I saved it in a low resolution to make it easier to upload with a dial-up connection, which makes it less clear than the original.

  • @Grancie48 What is a 'dial-up connection' ? Is that like an audio cassette ?

  • @blortner It feels more like a "victrola". lol

  • @MoonBlade24

    Their shades

  • what about pink?

  • BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • Why does everyone think purple should be violet? What's wrong with purple? ):<

  • @MikuMikuBeat

Scientists use "violet" and "ultra-violet" to describe the different-length light rays. There is no "ultra-purple". :)))

  • @Grancie48

yup a good way to remember is Roy G. Biv for Red, Orange, Yellow, Gree, Blue, Indigo and violet which is ordered in decreasing wavelength (increasing frequency).

  • Hippies!

  • why am i watching this -.-

  • what about white?

  • @Kuzco1425ah not in rainbow, not in standard crayon box

  • oh sure theres black and brown (which arent in the rainbow) but no white? how racist

    (joking)

  • that is so stupid

  • my brother wanted to watch this lame stuff

  • @sydney2010ist It's important to respect others preferences and choices and to not ridicule or demean them. It's all part of your becoming a person of character and worth.

  • @Grancie48

    Well said. :)

  • @Grancie48 are you a mother or grandmother?i can tell your not a boy.

  • @Grancie48 are you a mother or grandmother?i can tell youre female

  • @cccfudge10

     I'm both a mother and a grandmother.

  • Is :46 a picture of Harrogate, UK?

  • 195 people dont like colours

  • @mileycyruscrazy101 EXCUSE ME, THE CORRECT TERM IS COLOR NOT COLOUR! OF COURSE IN THE UK THEY CALL IT THAT BUT IN US NO NO

  • @GamersChannels Not starting a argument or anything, but American is based of the original british language with a few words modified. It is orignally Colours. Americans took the "U" out as it is un-pronounced.

  • @GamersChannels thats coz americans are lazy spellers.... just putting it out there

in NZ we have a U... and im pretty sure Australlia adds U's too,

its just because of the modified kind of language that you have, as GamersChannels pointed out.

  • great song! watch the video I made for a rainbow song! at my youtube channel. aunterikaproductions

  • Song needs work. lyrics are ok. Tune the piano.

  • what was wrong with the old version?

  • @mattratt512 The original version had no musical accompaniment.

  • You had an alphabet song on Youtube with a picture of a tiger. My son loved it. I can't find it. Where did it go?

  • @TheToby2shoes I'm sorry I can't help you. It wasn't one of my videos. The only thing I can think of is that it might be in one of my favorites.

  • this helped lol :)

  • poor song

  • I sometimes catch myself singing this tune. My two year old absolutely loves it. Maybe I'm being a little overly emphasizing but I think this song is just as one of the lyrics speaks 'beautiful and bright'! Thank you.

  • @vidfann It's always nice to hear positive feedback. Thank YOU for taking the time to comment.

  • wheres pink

  • @rihannarocks6 Sorry, pink, gray, and tan didn't make the cut, just the 8 basic crayon box colors. Besides, I guess you could argue that they're just shades of red, black, and brown.

  • oh my , I was in death cab for cutie, and i clicked this thinking 'colours' was one of there songs.

And you can imagine my shock when this comes on,

  • a music theory nightmare

  • Sorry... bored my kid.

  • this is great!!!!!

  • very good

  • how does this have so many views!!!!! :l

  • how does this have so many freakin views!!!!! :l

  • It makes me think back at my time at kindergarden and primary school time. I still love the songs we sang there together and sometimes humm them. Maybe i'll try to humm this one too later. It sounds comforting and is good for teaching little kids the colours.

  • Oh lord...

This song was recommended to me by Youtube because I watched 'Cop Killer' by Ice-T. I'm not making that up.

  • @butt17sex Yes, I think there's a rap with the name Colors. I think that's why this song for little children comes up.

  • @butt17sex I think , very reasinable for kids

  • Oh man...

Youtube recommended this song to me because I watched 'Cop Killer' by Ice-T. I'm not making that up.

  • HAHA This song was recommended to me by Youtube because I watched 'Cop Killer' by Ice-T. HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA I'm not making that up.

  • Those who criticize your singing must have computers with cheap audio. Your singing is quite nice. Not sure what child age this song targets but my opinion is that there is not good separation of the colors and not distinct enough labeling. In the beginning of the song there is labeling of colors but runs through the tutorial too fast. The color labeling sort of flows together too much instead of pausing and emphasizing each. A child seeing this will memorize word 'colors' b4 the color names.

  • @Accumulator1 You make valid points. Thank you.

  • Stop the insults idiots. This woman took the liberty of creating this video for children, and as it seems, is also a very good person at teaching.

  • Thank you i was looking for a song just like this

  • My Neice Loves This.. :]

  • @SamanthaDumbBlonde Thanks.

  • you cannot sing!!!!

  • @snoopyc431 ... but I CAN teach.

  • Wow, the people writing comments on here are complete idiots,

that cannot spell nor make a good point.

You have a lovely voice, and my daughter learned from this.

Maybe all of you can go back to school and get a teaching degree,

then bring back a good argument.

  • just watching this made my IQ go down. That you 4 killing more then 1/2 my brain cells and my ear drums.

  • it sounds like they ripped off Itsey Witsey Spider

  • this person cant NOT sing

  • @cutemonkey1235 Maybe not, but I CAN teach.

  • @cutemonkey1235 How horrible. Your name is CUTE monkey? More like MEAN monkey. Its great because it suits you, and uses alliteration.

I'd like to see you try and sing. Just don't break your computer screen. Oh, and by the way, SHE ACTUALLY CAN SING - AND TEACH. =)

  • Hahahaha Black isn't a color it's a shade

  • @lucieann21 So cute. Thanks for sharing.

  • voted #1 video from my blind students. They love colors!

  • Im a preschool teacher, and my kids know silver, gold, gray, teal and peach as well, among other non standard crayon box colors. We also cover shapes such as trapezoid, arch, crescent moon, star, heart, hex and octagons, as opposed to the basic shapes like circle square rectangle triangle etc. They love this video too btw!

  • if only the video was more quality.

  • wonderful!!!!

clap! clap! clap! clap! clap! clap! clap! clap!

    yeah...

  • you cover all the colours but what about puce or fucia or indigo or mauve?

  • @richardthewriter This song, written for primary grade children, only covers the colors found in a standard crayon box as well as those found in the rainbow.

  • @Grancie48 that makes total sense. Can't imagine little ones even being able to pronounce those colours much less interested in knowing them. thanks!

  • @Grancie48 that makes total sense. Can't imagine little ones even being able to pronounce those colours much less interested in knowing them.
