  • Pretty sure you can just pull the stick off the board...

  • @DarkDezzick If ur taking about the part of the analogue that your thumb is on then yes you can; it's like a Lego piece lol (my 360 controller has PS2 sticks:), however the actual mechanism itself needs to be desoldered and resoldered which imo is way too much work. It's funny cuz I ran across this video trying to find a way to it without doing that (I'm gonna try some dust off). In my case I'm afraid the problem isn't just dirt; but the mechanism itself :(OG Xbox controller btw).

  • I know nobody has a solution to my problem haha, i spilled curry on my 360 controller, i had some food in a bag, and a 360 controller in the same bag, but the curry spilled out of its box, and half of my controller is under the curry. I took al the parts out and dried them so they wont stick, but now the problem is the analog stick keeps walking forward without me wanting it to. The rest of the buttons work fine. Any ideas?

  • Im sorry old controller but I must venture out to the nearest game stop and buy a new controller. I may not make it back but I just want you to know it was an honor playing along side with you. R.I.P old broken controllers

  • it could help if you turned a light on,,,

  • my controller is messed....my analog stick gets stuck. If i run in cod or halo i have to push it back down....anyway to fix that?

  • iin both of my controllers i cant run for long and i cant turn left in one of them will this still work for them???

  • @WishedForWishes damn same here bro

  • How bout some light next time, bro?

  • my analog stick on my controller , the left one , each time i play black ops and i push down on it , it wont sprint and when i walk forward it just stops suddenly Can anybody help?

  • microsoft is so fucking cheap they made these controllers so crappy that there suppose to do this so u have no choice but to go buy a new one--these are the only controllers out of my 4 systems that fuck up like that

  • good thing i couldnt see shit

  • @HashSIingingSIasher LMFAO!!!!!!!!!

  • @HashSIingingSIasher Trust me this is probably the worst vid on utube

  • Compared to my other controllers the broken one has a much more stiff or sticky joystick. I tried this method and it didn't seem to work for me. Help plz?

  • on one of my controllers the right analog stick its really annoying, i can move it right just fine but when i move it left it goes super slow so if im playing with it i always have to turn right... just get annoying

  • I just did this and now from only sticking to the left it sticks every direction... good job

  • awesome, thanks

  • jeses christ i feel stupid now

my analog stick was stiff as hell and i have been trying to move it around and banging it for an hour but nothing worked i even but money into my cretid card ready to buy a new one

that you said try to blow into it i though what the hell......now it work perfectly

so thanks you saved my some money in a pretty weird way (for me)

  • @thesatanic6 just buy a new anolog stick system and unsolder the broken one and solder the new one in

  • I have a question for you, you see my analog stick is fucked up to the point where i dont even have to push it hard and it will automatically keep moving left or up for my character, then sometimes when im playing any game if i move the analog stick up it just stops working like if i play Halo or COD and moving forward my guy will like stop walking for a couple seconds till i move the stick elsewhere will this fix that? also can u buy the screw driver for this at Home depot or online only?

  • @lucas96180 there might be something in the way (like dirt), or it can be a wire problem, which this obviously wont help. I got the allen wrench key online, but home depot MIGHT have it.

  • @PMaka1991 Thank you

  • @lucas96180 same exact story, what i did was pushed down really hard then moved it all around with force and now its really loose but works better

  • @lucas96180 there is a very thin piece of copper that turns the left to right censer and over time it bend and thats what cause's it to drift in games like cod or halo and so on, the only way i found so far is to get all new analog parts not the sticks but the censer they go on, talismoon make better replacements for it but almost nobody has then if find some get'em cause there damn near imposible to get.

  • @PMaka1991 Typically I wouldn't care when someone say something that is false on youtube since it's typically just misguided information but when it's completely lying. That's just wrong.

You're not getting paid anything by youtube, you'd need a partnership. You don't have enough subscribers/views for that.

  • @Milerliteweight Theres an ad on my video. Any idea why that is? Since you dont, why dont you shut the fuck up? :) Becoming a partner allows you to have instant ads on ALL your videos and channel page. Activating revenue sharing for certain videos (when prompted) allows ads to be put on specific videos. Hence the reason I have ads on this video. I DO make money from this video and another on my channel, and yes, it is a significant amount. Just for ur info, I do have enough views, short on subs.

  • Thanks dude am going to try it out, I have two older controllers with this problem.

  • Just took mine apart and dripped a little WD40 (lubricant) onto the gimble and down the hole in its middle. Didn't think it had worked because the return spring is underneath and is inaccessable without destroying the gimble housing, but on putting it back together I descovered it was actually much better. So, just lubricate the moving parts. Carefully.

  • turpentine works, and i cant see a fuck, thumbs up for bob marley

  • @gunnjam182 could see the video fine. basic common sense to use a q tip and clean underneath the analog sticks. you must be blind as a fucking bat.

  • Thanks, this video was so helpful.

    /sarcasm off.

  • just so you know, if ypou use WD40 theres no danger of shorting anything out because WD40 does not conduct electricity.

  • tahnks alot man. worked great! simple, short and easy. thank yo very much

  • hey i have some kind of weird screw on my controller. not a normal, phillips, or alan wrench. has anyone else had this and if so how to you open the controller?????

  • @phish33194 I had to order the screwdriver online.

  • @PMaka1991 is there a certain name for it?

  • @phish33194 cant remember, i got it with a controller case. try google or a controller mod site.

  • @phish33194 torx 8

  • can't see a thing. not very helpful video

  • One of my controllers has sticky analogs and ive tried this solution and it didn't work does anyone have any more solutions

  • i pissed on how xbox makes expensive controllers and yet they break easily. better said they are cheaply made. fuck mirosoft

  • "Dirt gets in weird places"... Lmao awsome

  • For anyone still looking for a solution to this problem, you can try this but it most likely is not the cause of the sticky analog. I've opened 2 of my controllers with this problem and the analog stick at the bottom is like an upside down T both of the horizontal rods get worn out whenever using the analog stick. Its made of a cheap plastic that you can literally scratch with your finger nail obviously for market reasons sad to say the only real solution is a new controller. Hope this helps

  • U can pull those joysticks out

And clean it more in the inside of them

  • show us how to open it up

  • For me the left analog stick when i push it up its like stickey not smooth...Any body help me how to make it smoother?

  • @clubmimo123 I have the same exact problem.

  • @HundredProductions I don't have it now because i've been playing it for a long time and i pressed harder up.When i did that it became little smoother.Once i started playing normally then it was smooth. If it does not work contact me cause i dunt want people hanging with problems that no one cares about.

  • too dark.

  • my when i push up it goes down and when i puch down it goes up and stays

    any help

  • @julioacosta123 Same, But when I hold foward I go forward, I go back wards, or I don't move at all. All the other directions work but just not forward. Seeing as I'll have to take it apart anyways and I have nothing to lose, I'll also paint it 'cause u need to take it apart to do so.

  • @SkilledMalinguanhaze i have the same problem have u found a way 2 fix it.

  • @TheChampiYon I sorted that out with the purchase of a new controller, I'm sure I can fix it if I wanted to, but I can't be bothered with taking my controller apart, I'd probably f*** it up some how.

  • my xbox 360 analog sticks are loose and like wobble, how do i fix it?

  • did you find a solotion? im calling xbox at 9 XD

  • My analog stick sticks slightly to the left... right out of the fucking box.

    Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr...

  • same here

  • My stick sticks slightly up, which means when I try to stand still in Gears I sometimes will walk slowly forward... I'll try this, thanks for the video.

  • Use electronic lube, like those used in the gears of the laser lens of the DVDs players, it is not conductive so there's no problem, this don't fix the problem at all but help a lot (clean the stick mechanism with compressed air and just drop some lub inside the mechanism and twist around to distribute well the lube)

  • where can i get the electronic lube

  • thank u i was about to buy a new one

  • both of my controllers analog stick are sticky they don.t spring back to the middle as supposed too..

Its not worth spending $100 for 2 new controllers just cause they get dirty inside ..

I'll take it apart to clean it also

  • agreed but i tried this already and the analog is still sticky

  • thnx dude, this helped!
