@lordcapucino They were too busy pirating it. The theateres targeted the nerds on this movie, which in reality, nerds dont pay for anything.

@TheSecretPassword Nerds spend a lot of money in nerd's things... Nerds have often a huge DVD collection including a lot of movies you have never seen... And they are able to go to the theatres to watch LotR 10 times... Your affirmation without any argument is usless.

@Toea Depends on what you call "nerd." Most of my nerd friends (and myself included) have seen this movie, and it never even hit the cinemas down here in Argentina. I think that it didn't even got released on DVD! Still, most of us saw it, several times. You figure out how.
Also, no, I do not have "a huge collection" of DVDs, only a few. And I didn't see LotR 10 times (3, at the very most.)

@lordcapucino Lots of people watched it and loved it. It wasn't a box office smash hit, but very few films are. It was made and it exists, what more do you want? Does it need to be super popular for you to be happy?
