What I see is what most people see which is a guy coming out of the counting office with a ballot box, where in fact the ballot boxes are supposed to be left. What I do not see is security accompanying people at the entrance when they are supposed to be entering with ballot boxes. The media's and Government's inability to even air a story on this issue is in itself a travesty of democracy. Ballot boxes should stay at official Government buildings and not in our bedrooms.Lol...
You're quite right: Democracy does trump "I am Yes" "I am No". And here's democracy: 1. Turnout of 58%. 2. 67.1% yes vote. 3. No serious evidence of fraud(apart from fuzzy videos that prove nothing). 4. No challenges of the results in the Courts because there is no serious evidence. Respect Democracy! Respect the Irish people's right to change their mind on Lisbon! Respect the Yes vote!
Note, I said democracy and accountability. You cannot have democracy without accountability. Mr. Fool I would suggest when someone presents a video to you of ballot boxes being stolen from counting centres and there is no public accountability by way of Government Public scrutiny then accordingly there is a deprivation of democracy.
I think you see what you want to see in the Video. How do you know there were no public officials scutinizing the count? How do you know whether the box being carried away was full or empty? Anyway, if this video is such hard evidence, why aren't the results being challenged in our courts? We do live in a democracy with an independent judiciary. There is accountability. Attempting to thwart the will of the People with spurious claims about the legitamcy of the Referendum undermines democracy.
In response to last two commments, whether you believe there was a yes vote or a no vote is irrelevant at this stage. The simple fact of the matter is voting ballot boxes were blatently mishandled and there has been no accountability for democracy. Democracy and accountability trumps "I am Yes" or "I am No" plural.
