I too am a longtime salsa dancer but for a fitness class and for breaking it down I feel you did an excellent job Coco!! I think it was great you just broke it down to the very basics of front, back, side, tap, kick......simplicity is the key when teaching non native people who did not grow up dancing this music...thanks for sharing...

This is not how you dance salsa! In the mambo forward and back steps that are used in salsa (what you are showing) the feet are never together they always pass so as not to stop the flow of movement. As a professional Latin dance teacher and having taught salsa for 13 years I know what i am talking about

@denisebrownlow Thanks for your feedback Denise! I learned this teaching technique from a professional salsa teacher in LA, this is the way we teach for beginners to pick up salsa moves quickly and use it for a workout. So it's not mambo. Good job on teaching salsa for so long!
