One of the greatest bands ever!! ...and one of the most beautiful songs...if I had to choose one from their repertoire. As other PH's songs it touches my soul to tears.
In the seventies I had a song recorded on tape Procol Harum spindle. I listened to them over and over. It was for us, living in a communist country, a breath of freedom. I was at a concert of this band. The concert was held in Wroclaw.
One of my favorite songs of all time! I love the high class and respectability degenerating into complete debauchery just like a Republican fundraiser!
Absolutely stunning. One of my favorite voices of all time. But that crowd of octogenerians! I guess it's just an American thing, but I would have been the only one high-five-ing the trees.
Terrific on many levels, but the original recording of this goes back a few decades. This once again begs the question, "What the *&^% happened to popular music?"
???Czy ktoś mógłby mi pomó.chodzi mi o taki utwór Brokera w teledysku z tańczącym Indianinem.Nie pamiętam tytułu???Jeśli ktoś kojarzy.Proszę o info.To było w latach 80/90 przełom.Z góry dzięki.
As far as I can remember the lovely and superb Julie Eskaer was the violinist in question. She was also very close to adding to her family at the time ! Top lady.
Love Procol Harum? Try to check out this danish group on youtube: moi Caprice - Postcard Margins The song is kind of simular to Procol Harums Grand Hotel.
Those serenades, sarabandes and peach flambees will never reach Greece....what a pity....we're full of shit like Iron maiden and Deep Purple....EVERY YEAR....but this....NEVER
What a beautiful live version of "Grand Hotel"! Does this song touch your soul like it does mind? Listen to the music, and study the beautiful day and its surrounding as you listen to the music! This song reminds me that I still haven't found something missing in my life?
I am a die-hard Procol fan and would have given my LIFE to have been here (I DID see them in '93 in Philadelphia and will never forget that night as long as I live! They were without an orchestra and still did A Salty Dog flawlessly---they did NOT do Grand Hotel).
What a beautiful cadenza is sung in Keith Reid's verse "it's serenade and sarabande..." !!! Wonderful music, lovely and so deep feelings heart-beating yo my soul through the whole piece! ¡¡¡Gracias, Procol coros y orquesta son lo máximo!!!
Wow! This was one of my favorite bands as a teenager. I looked forward to their next record with eager anticipation. I saw them live on several occasions. It's wonderful to see this performance. They are in some ways better than ever. This is inspirational. Thanks for posting.
Get the DVD at Amazon- it is beautiful. Also the Union Chapel live session is out on Blu-Ray- wonderful with Matthew Fisher!!!!!
