By volume, Cannabis is 90% of the drug trade business between Mexico and the USA.  DEA reports that cartels make 60% of their income from Cannabis, and according to ONDCP 76% of drug users use Cannabis. It's clear that the majority of the black market business is fueled by Cannabis. The most traded commodity on the black market is and will continue to be Cannabis until that commodity is offered through legal means.

Yes, Legalization of Marijuana is the first and the only path to ending the War on Drugs. Creating a legal market for a commodity will eliminate the black market.

Police used to be there to "TO SERVE AND PROTECT" now their agenda is to find something to arrest you for, most of which is drug possession with that agenda the slogan is no longer printed on the cars. I agree with Gary and with what Europeans are doing about drug problem, they are NOT arresting people for possession of drugs rather they are offering treatments. How is it fair to throw in jail a junkie on heroin while treat a junkie on oxyContin?

Gary, we need you to run for the president. We need somebody of your caliber to uphold the US constitution and fix all the incriminating laws that puts non-violent civilians behind bars. USA has the highest imprisonment rate in the world: 760 for 100,000 people vs 100 per 100,000 in Europe. That means Americans have been stripped themselves off their civil liberty rights. As an American you are more likely to get arrested and spend time in jail than in any other country in the world! Peace!
