  • you have to have $300 or more worth of unpaid tickets at the same time to get the car towed in NY.

  • @italia210 i dont think the policy commissioner is an elected official. i think he is appointed by our mayor, and the mayors on his way out next election, unless he can get a fourth term the same way he got a third, even though theres a 2 term limit.

  • This must be the SUV of Jimmy Justice. LMFAO.

  • is the suv a AWD vehicle? dont they need a flatbed

  • in cicero illinois they ticket and tow for street sweeping .. and the people did a protest against it .. but it is posted on the sign. if you obey the rules you will not have any problems!

  • Well i suppose thats why theres so many taxis and why so many people get taxis

  • upagainstthefire is correct, you do NOT get towed by NYPD TOW for ANY arrears in tickets, you could have $50,000 in tickets they would only care if you are in violation of the signs or any other traffic law. Sounds crazy but you could get towed for not having change in the meter, its a little known law that made the WHOLE CITY a TOW AWAY ZONE. Most wont tow for that but if they are in need of cars, they WILL! Ive seen 1st hand. City Marshal will tow for $350 unpaid tix. Sometimes pay on spot.

  • so if you owed tickets, and it's over $350, they punch the plate into their little computer, see that you're in judgement over $350, and they seize the car. a private tow company hooks up the car, and takes it to a desolate block called "The Stage", the stge is where security for the marshal watches the car until a flat bed from that private tow company hooks it up and takes all the cars to their yard 2 cars at a time (i'm a former tow truck driver for the marshal in NYC) $350 turns into $750

  • Just to explain what you (the filmer) was asking in the video, basically NYPD tows cars for being illegally parked. if they see the car illegally parked, they ticket and tow it whether its ticketed or not. they don't tow cars for owing tickets. The City Marshal tows for owed tickets. the city marshal drives around a specific police PCT punching plates to see if the registered owner is in judgement for $350 or more, and if (s)he is, a private tow company contracted by the marshal impounds the car

  • Laws are Laws if you don't like them go to the

    middle east!

But if you obey rules you'll be ok!

Laws apply to everyone, all rules not just the ones that you think are important to you.

Tow truck drivers get picked on world wide for being the bad guys....until you need them...

    then they're a saviour!

  • all you have to do is have a judgement in the amount of $210 or any of the tickets totalling more than $210 and they can toll.

I beat all my tickets, without evidence, without a witness, without photos too.... I have beaten, hydrant, double parking, expired reggies, you name, I know I can beat 'em...

  • it went up to $350 about a year and a half ago

  • NYC traffic laws have double standards, we need more people like jimmy justice and myself!

  • I like the conversation. I was wondering, where do the tow trucks park, and doe tow trucks get towed away when parked illegally as well?

  • the car they tow in this video is actually parked at a meter

  • @boojwahz It could be suspended or expired registration, but from the video it's obvious they aren't allowed to park there at that time... also listening to your conversation, you are supposed to request a hearing...

  • nyc should ban personal vehicles.

  • believe me man, anyone stupid enough to drive into manhattan during the work day deserves what he gets. they make it so hard to park its kinda like they are already banned.
