The Mines are still there. They cause the death of Thousands of people who life in that Region. Both Sides used Mines to such an extant that they denied each other to break through.
to those who are wondering why we praise Rommel, despite being the enemy, he was not only a brilliant strategist but he was also very "nice". He defied Hitler's orders multiple times, refusing to kill Jewish POWs for example. He publicly denounced Hitler's treatment of the Jews, and he one of the only (if not the only) German leaders whose unit (Afrikakorps) didn't commit any war crimes. He may have been fighting on the wrong side but he was fighting as a human with honor and morals.
@Imprezaman555 IIRC the only other place in the german armed forces you found that level of "following the rules of war" was in the air and the submarine groups both of which kept their honour of treating the enemy with respect and accepting and helping those who surrendered.
@MitchofSmeg Oh yeah I forgot about them, odd because they were so significant too. That said historically the air was usually a more "civil" fighting ground, although I don't know much about the subs.
The Brits had this tank busting Hurricane, armed with 40 mm "S" auto cannons. While no as sexy or fast as the more famous Spitfire (even with the same engine), the Hurricane was aknowledged as a superb and stable gun platform.
@grahamkeithtodd Rommel is king of Africa, Manstein is king of eastern front: end of story......British = king of bombing cities with women/children than claiming Germany commited war crimes
A word on Rommel's epic failure at Bir-Hakeim should have been noted, explaining how the 8th army could be back to safety during Rommel super-fast push :)
High british commanders were incapable&dumb&lazy&insane old farts - they killed many (british) brave men!!

I realy think the panzer III was a pretty good tank and personally my favorite :D those Dragon 1/35 models are a real beauty...

Had Rommel had better supply lines and a good stream of reinforcements... Monty would have been crushed. Rommel was 10x the general Montgomery was.
