How could the censors allow Jeff Chandler's see-through swim trunks at 0:10 in 1955? I read that Joan strolls the beach in this movie wearing high heels, a fur wrap & a bathing suit !
Yes,this film needs a dvd release in a box set of her films,'Sudden Fear' is already on dvd from Kino video but the transfer isn't good since it's just made from their own vhs release.
This would make a great box set with: Autumn Leaves, The Story of Esther Costello, and Sudden Fear. All of which need a good DVD release and were made around the same time.
I highly agree- I thought a few years back they were going to release it. I remember a 16mm trailer I lost a bid on ebay a while back from a company in Burbank that runs its business transferring for DVD. I thought maybe they needed it for the extras part. but alas, nothing yet. Thanks for the comment
Oh man, I wish I could come to your backyard screening, Tony! Sounds so fun! I absolutely adore Crawford and have never seen this gem! Thanks for posting this clip!! Sending good vibes from Canada! :D
Thanks for your comment. Actually it was Esther Williams who caught him dressed in her clothes. Ironically in this film Chandler hits the beach like the big ol nelly queen he was.
I have it on 16mm film and show it in my back yard during a tiki party every year. It has become such a tradition that we have about 100 people every year. It's wonderful for the young folk to rediscover it again.
I WISH I was still in California!!!! Lived in Seal Beach for about 4 yrs, but got homesick and came back to...er...Connecticut! I am on my space...heartbeat214

Why is this movie not on DVD? There's so much rubbish available but this classic Crawford movie continues to miss a release!

This is my favorite Joan flick, too! I have it on VHS from when I recorded it in the '80's. I still watch it from time to time.
