He had a disease called vitiligo which ruins the pigmentation of your skin. The result was his skin was getting "blotches" of very very white skin, so he had his skin changed because otherwise he'd look pretty weird.

When I was watching this at the time the ONLY thing that turned me off was the lip synching. I thought the band was so good to get it done so perfectly, then I noticed the band leader, sitting there clapping! duh. lol But the proformance was so excellent it wasn't all that important. He was the highlight of the evening, hands down.

I'm glad he's out it all but I sure feel for his family. His poor children.
