i have a lot of plans for my car, twin turbo, exhaust, cams, intake, everything i can put into it.
the srt 10 never had a chance but nice to see him racing

when its up and running im gonna race a 2001 s4 thats been chipped to 330 hp and 390 torque, if i win ill be pretty happy with my car
The exhaust system on the truck is hardly a beneficial mod. That Trans Am has way too many mods to even consider the race evenly matched before it started. Stock vs. Stock, SRT-10 of course. Nice Trans Am though.
lol guys... and to the girls that don't know how skip shift works. it is used to keep the tree huggers happy and saves some gas during normal driving by making you shift from 1st to fourth... but under wot it is disabled and allows the driver to shift normal. so under racing conditions you could use all the gears... btw the skip shift elim... is only 36 buck or so from summit or jegs etc. who buys a v8 f-body for gas mileage anyway... of course i have 2 lol... not for mpg though
@shifflett70 The skip shift is not so that you DON"T HAVE to use second It keeps you from using. The skip shift is a factory race governor. If you have the factory skip shift in a LS1 6speed Camaro or T/A and you try to run hard through 1st or 2nd gear the transmission blocks out 2nd(if you were in first) and 3rd so that you have to go to 4th. You can buy skip shift eliminators which this guy obviously did but the skip shift does not help the driver in any way during a race it hinders him only.

@shifflett70 Well you can buy what is called a Skip Shift Eliminator from various aftermarket companies. I would recommend SLP. What this does is, you set the ASR to on or off with the Eliminator box and it will stay that way when the ignition is turned off and then back on. Without this box, you can turn the ASR off with the ignition on but it will turn back on as soon as you turn the ignition off and then back on. The box will keep you from having to push the button every time you start it.

Its one of GM's ways of boosting fuel economy a couple of mpgs. its only on when youre driving normally. when you drive at WOT (or at least above the minimum % or WOT) then it is shut off and allows you to shift into 2nd and 3rd. in a race it doesnt hinder anything.

I know what I am talking about because I have had to deal with it and fix it! @AdrenalineJunky17 thats not how it works. it takes more fuel to use 2 extra gears where youre shifting through the rpms more. under normal driving, you dont need to use a lot of the power the lt1 and ls1 have so shifting into 4th is more efficient than having to use more rpms in 2nd and 3rd.

I find it extremely entertaining that some of you even consider it to be a "fair" race. The RAM SRT10 has an estimated curb weight of 5450 lbs, and the Trans Am has a curb weight of 3319 lbs (if it was a manual). Its not fair by any stretch of the imagination. Even if that SRT10 was built -- it has to move 2000 lbs more than the Trans Am.
i too, have a WS6, stock, but with 4.10's. power to weight deff. not even on these two, but in my race with a srt truck, on a fwy. netted me a loss, after about a q mile. i had him for a bit, but he caught my ass. that t/a is modded up, so yeah, he'd beat him....
It's not hard to make a 6 speed TA quick like this if they aren't already quick to begin with! lol This video didn't surprise me at all. it's pretty easy to get close to 500 hp with the ws6 with only a handful of bolt-ons. The 4.10's and 6 speed are a match made in heaven but I'd prefer an auto for drag racing.

Even if the T/A wasn't modded, it'd still be a close race if not a win against a crew cab SRT10 just because of weight and traction. This one wasn't even a contest. A Heads/Cam/Full Bolt-on Dyno tuned LS1 is putting out well over 550hp. With the weight/drag/traction issues of the truck, it never had a chance.

Quad cabs are ALL automatics.. and the single cabs are ALL 6 speed Tremec T56 trannys. Reg cabs come with 4.11, and the quad cab is 4.56.

I find it extremely entertaining that some of you even consider it to be a "fair" race. The RAM SRT10 has an estimated curb weight of 5450 lbs, and the Trans Am has a curb weight of 3319 lbs (if it was a manual). Its not fair by any stretch of the imagination. Even if that SRT10 was built -- it has to move 2000 lbs more than the Trans Am.

i too, have a WS6, stock, but with 4.10's. power to weight deff. not even on these two, but in my race with a srt truck, on a fwy. netted me a loss, after about a q mile. i had him for a bit, but he caught my ass. that t/a is modded up, so yeah, he'd beat him....

It's not hard to make a 6 speed TA quick like this if they aren't already quick to begin with! lol This video didn't surprise me at all. it's pretty easy to get close to 500 hp with the ws6 with only a handful of bolt-ons. The 4.10's and 6 speed are a match made in heaven but I'd prefer an auto for drag racing.

Even if the T/A wasn't modded, it'd still be a close race if not a win against a crew cab SRT10 just because of weight and traction. I wish GM had put out a truck that could compete with the Lightning and the SRT. They shoulda brought back the Silverado 454ss. Maybe even drop in a tarted up 8.1L instead..

they have really good potential tho have u ever seen a worked silverado ss or s10 they get pretty damn quick there is plenty of motor options but stock they are just work trucks and the ss has a little power nothing major just more stylish but the svt, srt 10, and cummins td are pretty serious trucks I like them more than the cars they have to offer except for the 60's and 70's

bro they do!!! its called a DENALI!!! or a sierra slt 2wd like i got they come with a 6.2L V8, 403HP 417TQ with a 6 speed auto.... now i found my truck that was one of the first two wheel drive to get a motor with the 6.2.. however mine came stock with the 430HP and 427TQ, mine however does not have the car intake it has the truck intake so my TQ may be a lil more considering its a taller intake than the LS3 corvettes

This one wasn't even a contest. A Heads/Cam/Full Bolt-on Dyno tuned LS1 is putting out well over 550hp. With the weight/drag/traction issues of the truck, it never had a chance.

I've never raced one BUT, ME and THREE of my friends were in my friends 03stangGT with just a few bolt-ons, and he raced a 2door SRT10 and it was a dead even race, and that stang isn't that fast, i smoke him in my 99z28, SRT10's are fuckin gay

see im a big mopar guy..but i love camaro's and mustangs really appreciate any american muscle car but i agree with you my friend has one and we had it going 156 mph..wether people think its fast its a fuckin truck lol its impressive i love the fact dodge did it i wish ford would do something like that with a lightning, just to do it and atleast your respecting the fact its quick and your 2000 z28 thats the first ls1 i drove it was a 6 speed and thats no slouch either lol respect for both of you

no matter what... you are racing a full size truck against a car. for a truck to keep pace with a car like that is VERY impressive, no matter the hp figures, weight, drag, and traction are all very important in this equation.
