  • LCD, LED, OLED, 3D, Plazma....where are you, laser ?

  • Three years later....no dice.

  • Plasma screens were outdated before they came out..

  • OH thats the PITCH. Will make plazma obsolete! dot da dah!!!!!!!!! drum roll please

  • *sigh* still no laser TV's or even SED's, just these fake LED TV's out that are really LCD.

  • where the fuck is it ?

  • @turgore

The brand names already invested millions on LCD/OLED. If they bring out laser then it's a loss.

  • @turgore +1

  • DLP should have shited on plasma and finest of Japan long time ago, it's the most advanced technology after computer processor. But that's what happens when you have monopoly.I wouldn't hope too much, the prices will be insane for a chip that by now should cost to produce as much as the plasma remote control

  • oleds are gonna be common place in no time plasmas ave been obsolete since the last 10 yers or so already ever since lcd came on the scene oled will ave its place as the cheper t.v lazersss willmost probably wud end up bieng used fo those high end holographic projectors for the rich folks most probably

  • oleds are the ultimate .. most probably this lazer technology might most probably end up bieng used for holographic images as opposed to bieng the so called oled killers.. oled is jus too cheap and too perfect and already too ready to end up getting lost and not end up getting in the market ..

  • is it laser or dlp

  • I'm ready, where the hell is it? They can't even make LCDs reliable. Come on Prism and SED. Bring them all on line and may the best one win.

  • too bad not many folks today are buying 3k buck TVs.

  • That plasma don't count they didn't use a pioneer 111-fd

  • fuck capitalism, hail tecnhology

  • Thats true the price tag is about 6,000 to 8,000 depending on screen size.

  • 6000-8000 what AU$ US$ ZIM$

  • cost less than lcd or plasma??? what a joke! those things are like $6,000

  • They don't have to be. It's DIRT CHEAP technology!

  • yea these brands are rediculous!

  • are they any good ?

  • idk but they better be

  • Less cost for production, they want to make money! :|

  • Nice.Theres gonna be compititions between OLED tv,Laser tv and FED tvs which means better prices for us consumers.

  • what are fed tvs?

  • premierfilmsonline com

  • How does it compair to the OLED TV?

  • OLED TV appears to be superior by far.

  • OLED is not superior by far, it's an improvment from dlp and a lot of lcd and plasma tv's are better. lazer is like going from tube to plasma

  • laser tv is out

  • OLED tv looks good too

    it has 1:1000 000 colour

  • you do realise that the contrast ratio they state is based loosely on the companies own tests, anybody can say whatever contrast ratio they like, to be honest, as there is no official way to measure it.

BTW, technically, oLED could be infinity:1 as it completely turns off (AKAIK) the pixels that are black

  • Contrast, not color.

  • can,t wait untill i could see the first laser tv,s next year.

  • laser tv is out now

  • laser tv is out

  • i wonder if the laser tv,s will have the same amount of pixels like lcd screen or does, it have not more pixels than plasma??

,m mean 42 years back they had allready laser tv,s but was it hd capable? cuzz hd existed allready.

but i guess that today,s laser tv,s could do that, with save of use and will last a long time, but i hope that it will look sharp as paper, whatever the screen size!!!!!!!!

  • laser tv will dominate and you'll never lose picture quality and the lifespan is better then OLED tv's which on most boards on here are claming screen life to four years thats pitiful. Since when did the laser become inferior to anything? The very blu ray player u use today is a blu laser instead of a red laser. Remember digital was suppose to be so superior to dvd players. Downloading HD quality movies and programs and it seem that it didn't put a dent in the Blu Ray sales one bit.

  • this is for projection TV's... you are comparing apples to oranges.

OLED will need to improve it's lifetime yes, but it does have many advantages. An OLED display can be the thickness of a credit card and has contrast advantages.. With work on color and lifetime it will be here to stay.

Laser projection is also here to stay.

I'd like to hear about laser projection safety, as in laser light can damage eyes.

  • man, we should just sto buying tech all together, because by the time it becomes affordable, new tech spanks it

  • oh mann dagegen ist ja mein 37er LCD eine Grobe Rastermühle von der man ewig weit wegsitzen muss um nicht die stechhellen Pixel eingelasert zu bekommen.

  • is it really smart to have a 3mm or 9mm thin tv at 100inches?

it could break under the slightest bit of stress. they would have to put like titan plate on the back to make it a bit durable.

  • The only problem with OLED displays is the color Blue. They can't seem to get this color to last very long. So your great OLED screen could be defect in a few years time if you are unlucky.

  • lol OLED is way better...and thinner.

  • Laser TV will kill OLED before it ever really takes off. Mitsubishi has a working experimental 65-inch model. At ten inches thick, it is a fatty compared to the ultra slim OLED monitors that are starting to hit the market, but it is 65-inches, which puts their puny size to shame. New technology in the pipeline, namely the "super wide angular optical engine" promises to get the thickness down to acceptable levels by the time the first commercial models roll out.

  • @latta65

Oah PLEASE, people: stop this bullshit already!

OLED and Laser TV technology will never kill each other.

OLED is the future technology for little and portable devices like mp3/4-players, handys and so on, because it would be to hard or better said nearly impossible to use laser here.

The Laser-technology will never reach portible devices in mass production -> to heavy, to thick, to expensive (in such little dimensions) and so on.

  • @latta65

But when it comes to TV laser is the only solution thats making sense, and there are several reasons for that.

First: OLED has nearly the same picture quality like plasma, there isn't that much of a difference so no need.

Second: OLED is far to expencive for such big dimensions.

Third: OLED has a very short live time.

fourth: Laser has much mire colors to show :).

  • @latta65 OLEDs will still be on laptops, cellphones, iPADs etc because they are slim. They can also be transparent so expect them on you car windshield =)

  • @pmcted2 OLEDS I believe Oleds will truly bring an revolution because of many reasons. transparents Oleds are one, flexible screens is another and I think there is one more that I cannot remember

  • @latta65 You're a fucktard. OLED displays can be a fraction of a millimeter thick, the lasers need a 3" square box that holds the laser. Also laser displays aren't flexible.

  • @latta65 i know you posted this comment 3 years ago but ill have to disagree with you, OLED tvs are one of the best tvs to buy at the moment and i haven't even heard of a lazer TV until today, OLED screens are in most phones we use today and Sony is using OLED screens for the PSP 2 (NGP).

  • @latta65 im sorry have you seen a single laser tv for sale? oled is as good as it gets.

  • @latta65 "Laser TV will kill OLED before it ever really takes off. "

    No, it won't.

It's a projection technology. The end.

Projection anything looks good in a darkened room. It might replace projectors, but it's not going to replace OLED or even LCD.

  • OLED is better

  • yes!! oled is the best!

  • YES!

    3mm think :)

  • *thick

  • with 30,000 hours tv?

    noo,

    laser tv ftw!

  • Yeah, thats the problem with OLEDs!! They have a lifetime!!

  • Sure, OLED TVs will most probably be better than Laser TVs. But Sony is saying they're expecting to begin launching bigger models no earlier than 2010. I think I'll buy my Laser TV 2008 and then buy an OLED when they arrive.

  • I'd like to know who is purchasing a six thousand dollar tv.

  • me...sorry...

  • while expensive, its cheaper than a 33 thousand dollar 70 inch lcd tv which has a low responce time, and is only 60 hz, and ghosting effect. while laser dlp has a faster responce time, and is 240hz and ha s a reald 3d processor (does 3d in hardware unlike last eyars sets) i do hope they have a 73 inch at under 5,000 though. nut if its 6k i might just go with it, dunno though. 4-5 k = no problem though.

  • 33k is over priced.

  • No prb. Even 6.000 EUR are possible.

  • Can't wait to get one. This is it !!!

  • awesome!!i want one
