Using Vmware.

Im having same problem as loud5000. I type in airmon-ng and the " Interface Chipest Driver " and under that is nothing else.

Now, From a lot of reading Im assuming its not seeing my wireless card, which is the usb AWUS036H alfa. I disabled my regular internal wireless in my laapy and enabled the alfa and i can get on firefox, msn.com, youtube, etc no prob, so the card works.

What do i need to do so Backtrack sees it? is there a different special driver I need ?

Great tutorial but I have a proble. I'm still a newbie with these things, so pls, no hater comments. I have the VMWare Player, and I installed Backtrack with it. The console opens up and everythings fine until I type in airmon-ng. Nothing comes up. Only Interface Chipset and Driver. It can't find my wireless hardware, and I need help. @krotammy well sort of. you do need to create a new partition. but you need to istall backtrack 4 which is a form of linux. so backtrack 4 is the operating system and the aircrack-ng is the program we are running
