Very good point Archbishop. What really decimated the institution of marriage was not only no-fault divorce but no-fault child support. Thus women could get rid of their husbands for no legitimate reason, yet receive part of his paycheck for years to come, no questions asked. This was an incentive to divorce, and many women fell for it. Millions of families were destroyed. The fault lays with those who changed the laws in the 70s and 80s.
As a Minnesotan and a Catholic, I find this extremely disturbing. In the last century, the Church showed a lot of backbone taking a stand for the oppressed and the marginalized, and for justice, even when temporal powers wanted to exploit. How is it that the Archbishop now wants to collaborate with the bigots in oppression? This is disgraceful! All of us, Catholics and Lutherans, Christian and non-Christian, religious and not religious, must stand with our gay and lesbian brothers and sisters!!
WHAT THE FUCK. One we can see throughout nature? Humans are one of the few species that don't actually consider homosexuality normal. Animals around the world (including dogs, cats, etc) show homosexual tendencies everyday, and it is fine in their species.
God created us as man & woman, different yet the same. Man & Woman are complimentary to each other, we are made for each other. This is the intent of God, that a man should leave his father and mother and cleave to his wife. God gave our 1st parents the commision to be fruitful and multiply, homosexual behavior is sterile and is void of the natural order (the ability to unite & procreate).
