  • nice video man! but i gotta let you know...its all about the durty 130. ;)

  • whats the song playing in this video?

  • E3 Navy. The best of the best! Submarine duty OK ! My life is in the NAVY. OK, why do I love being in the NAVY? Because the NAVY is the only way to survive!

  • to the guy who thinks its slow and not in combat, you need to do your reserch, its the fastest plan with out burners and is in every combat mission, becouse of its jammers. I was in the scorps 99-2004

  • @joshnorby and i remember you too, you were in the AO shop, used to start saying "peeeeeeenis" once in a while

  • the EA 6b Prowler is used for jamming enemy radar and communications but since they have EA18s they will probably not be used for combat. the prowler is not used for combat because of the inmanuvurability and is slow.

  • damn small world, i was in vaq-132 from 03 to 06

  • @supermoncho Yeah, I think he was with the Scorps from 03 to 06 as well. He's known as 'Farva'.

  • Comment removed

  • @skytalon74 yes i knew him LT Melanson, he had a police beacon drain on his helmet with the "Farva" written on it too, awesome guy

  • My brother in-law was with the Scorps VAQ-132 2003. Whidbey. Now post TPS.

  • a very radioactive jet..........wouldn't want to fly it

  • @vroomba03 its actually totally safe if you notice the light gold tint on the cockpit its actually a real thin layer of gold to reflect all that stuff away from the pilots

  • @marble97c not completely though. I talked to a guy who worked at the maintenence dept. at my local NAS and he said some of these guys end up with cancer later in their life because of the radiation, but not all of them.

  • @vroomba03 i live really close to a naval air station to its called navair in md is that the same one your talking about?

  • I will always miss them bastards

  • Wow, nice video...brings back alot of memories. I was an avionics tech on Prowlers from 78-89, stationed at Whidbey in several different squadrons. VAQ-132, 136, 137, 140 and 129.

  • the good ole days VAQ 130 APRIL2005-SEPTEMBER2008

  • I'm going to be working on these in about a month in squadron VAQ 129. in a year or two they will be phased out by the EA-18G Growler which is a much better aircraft because it doesn't need a fighter escort.

  • What is the mission of the prowler anyway?

  • The prowler jams enemy radar, electronic data links and communications.

  • electronic warfare

  • hey whats this song? can someone tell me? and i thought the prowler was USMC also, but it's being replaced by the growler? i hear

  • The song in this video is called "SABOTAGE" by the Beastie Boys. cool song but not as good as their "INTERGALACTIC PLANETARY"

  • i thaught the prowler was USMC

  • The EA6B Prowler is both Navy and USMC...Patuxant(spelling?) River MD and Whidbey Island, Wa - Navy...Cherry Point N.C... Marines. Maybe not anymore, though, they might have moved....

I was Whidbey Is. (VAQ-139) in 80's and Japan aboard U.S.S. Midway (VAQ-136)

One hell of an aircraft - has one pilot and three other officers, just to run all the electronics aboard.

My oldest brother and I both worked on the electronics on this sweet baby.

Yes, it is an unforgettable blast, being in the Navy.

  • When were you in VAQ-136 aboard the Midway? I was there for a short time in 1980.

  • Great plane coming from a former navy AME sailor from VAQ 130-132-138. Us Navy 79-83"

Reminds me of the old days.

  • And when were you in VAQ-132? I was there from 78-80.

  • wooooo!!! :]

ahhh just watching gives me a rushhh!!

    Navy♥

  • The Marines are keeping the prowler, I dont belive we have any plans to get the Growler any time soon. I love em and I hope we keep em as long as posible.

  • If you look close, it is a Hornet boltering. NOT a Prowler. I just put it in the video because the sparks are pretty cool at night on goggles. Of course only cool if you are not in the plane or on the platform waiting for the last guy to get on deck so you can grab a slider at rats!

  • Shit your just still a newbie. I think my highest month was 89.9 hours.

  • I'll match my 3000+ hour EA-6 log book against yours anyday. + 1000 in AWACS too.

  • Bring it on. Over 1600 EA-6B hours, 402 traps.

  • Great video from VAQ-139. Compare these great tailhook aviators and flight deck crews to the video of the fat P-3 TACCO and crew stuffing their faces on a typical P-3 "mission" that appears elsewhere on youtube. The mighty Prowler and tailhook NAVY RULE!!! Screw MPRA

  • Beautifully engineered planes. I hope I get into the sky on one of these someday... but by then they'll have the EA18's.

  • @jackrodely You'll have 2 choices... Hornet or Hawkeye :(

  • @jackrodely lokking forward to see a four-crew F-18, lol...jk

  • i can't believe they're so old those prowlers still need nitrogen to power the canopy we have this on prowler thats been in the vietnam war as long as they complete their mission, prowlers will be around til the EA-18 replaces them in different squadrons hoorah

  • ha ha he boltered.

  • Hey, you try it lol

  • Hey dickweed I got over 100 NIGHT traps on CV-41. I'll match my log book over yours anyday.

  • Matching logbooks?? Are you a real pilot?????

  • Rock and roll...

    STYK

  • What are you Guppy crews doing these days without enemy radar to screw up? lol

  • Bye bye Ms. American Pie...The pilots will be happy when the EA-18 Growler comes...

  • One ugly, loud machine.

    I love them.

  • Nice vid. Hats off to all our Navy guys and gals out there in the ocean, far from home, getting the job done!

  • Best Cruise video I've ever seen. Nice work DD.

    -TJ

  • this is what i fix in the navy...

    the engines..

    hooyah

  • lol wvr fights with the hornet!? Wonder how that turned out..haha..nice footage!

  • That was bitchin!!! I have a prowler video up too. -former pc.

  • Bad Ass! Since the A-6 left, its good to see this airframe still in use. At least for a little bit longer... GO PROWLERS!!!

True for A-6's and EA-6's...Their not afraid of what they are packin...thats why the probe is right out there...unlike other navy jets...HAHAHA!
