  • im 16 and this makes me sad that probably never again will surfing be the same or lifestyle be like the 60s. traveling for the perfect wave, no competitions, the mainstream music was amazing and didnt include a single computer, technology didnt rule the world... etc

  • @wangsta231 im the exact same way, only im 19, i get along better with all the older surfers that probly older than my parents haha. they just enjoy surfing for what it is. not competitions or sponsors. if i was one of those people in the video, i could have died that night and i would have died happy after having that session.

  • the best movie of all time :) i wish i had waves like that to ride every day !

  • Some of the best four and a half minutes in all of moviedom.

    Hats off to Bruce Brown!

  • its its its perfect.

  • How Lucky I was to have surfed this break back the late 70's. Not big but Oh so paper thin, clean and perfect! It's a very deep bay allowing the waves to refract into perfect lines. In those days I had a single fin 7.2 Safari. Sad to hear it has been spoiled by development.

  • Watch out for Robert's bellows. Those things are wicked.

  • Hecka gnar gnar!

  • 6 Stars for "The waves are made by a machine" they were perfect, indeed.

  • just another great spot that has been f'd up from coastal devolpoment....without the sand flow from the dunes it became just another ordinary wave...it's a shame

  • I retraced the boys steps in feb of '81. The wind had blown out the surf that day. Now the developers have fucked it up permanantly. I will always have my memories.

  • I met Bruce Brown when he came back to St.Francis to make Endless Summer 2. Legend.

  • Let's hope December is good.

  • Classic movie! I love this part!

  • I saw this movie when I lived in Hawaii the summer of 1964 at Roosevelt High School. Bruce Brown himself narrated the entire movie live on stage. They gave away surfboards as door prizes.

It was a great movie then and still gets the energy rolling for me today.

  • stoked on this movie.

  • isn´t that water too cold ? I mean, how do they surf on trunks ?

  • he said it was 70 degrees. i'd surf THAT in trunks if i had to.

  • they had no wetsuits so...its either trunks or naked haha. besides, cape st francis is worth it no matter how cold

  • Love This!

  • i love that movie
