@timpaterco We STILL refer to the Southeastern U.S. as "Dixie". And those of us who understand History and the uniqueness of our region still celebrate what you referred to as our "Southerness". It does not specifically mean the Confederacy although the Confederate States of America was and is still a part of it. It means the bayous of Louisiana, the hills of the Carolinas, the scent of Magnolia blossom perfume on a Alabama evening, the sunshine in a Georgia girls smile. All that and more.
