Actually he's probably right about saying that it will never come out, once again the movie was postponed cause Universal is almost pulling the plug on it. I'm kinda relieved cause Howard and Goldsman are TERRIBLE choices for an huge adaptation like TDT.

I think the lead for the proposed trilogy [its on the cards] is going to have to seriously be spot on. No Clint. Clint's an old man now which is a shame cause Roland, is based on Clint Eastwood. Doubt they'd be able to get Mr. Craig for the miniseries, maybe he'd be willing to do the three movies. More likely they'll cast unknowns. Only hope I've got is that they have the guts and foresight to cast Jamey Sheridan as Randall Flagg -- a lot of things sucked about "The Stand" miniseries, but he wasn't one of them.

@Yerflua You know... you're right. A vintage Clint Eastwood is the obviously impossible yet still the only truly perfect person for the part... but yes! Give him some age in his eyes, a stubble of a beard, the black hair you mentioned, and work on his accent not intruding too much... and you've got the Gunslinger. If they made it a mini-series (so they wouldn't have to cut out so much story to fit it into 3 hours) and released each part in theaters like a movie... it could be great, say thankya.
