Thanks a ninehundredandseven times for uploading this! I had the album (found it as "the consequences of indecisions"), but it burnt with a lot of others. How wonderful to be able to listen to this masterpiece again. And sad that UMG doesn't allow Germans to listen to most of your uploads :-((. Somewhat pathetic, as if they'd sell more records that way...I'll have to buy Pekka Pohjola's work again somewhere. You really made my day^^!
Pekka Pohjola was, to me, a real "music illuminated" like few others. Not for his tecnique, not for his compositions.. But for his natural ability to create eternal landscapes and REAL emotions.
You can study Chopin, Bach, Beethoven for an entire life and play them 10 times faster than the normal.. But to be a genius is another thing.
Personally, as a musician, i take him as one of the example of what is MUSIC. (And Mike Oldfield too)
The most underrated bassist, composer of all time. This is unique, brilliant music. Pekka´s music sounded always like no other. So sad that he passed away...RIP!
@Albertmerinen After having found Mike Oldfield, Pekka en Pierre Moerlen, I ventured on to Japan, another great band of their time. I mostly favoured Mick Karn for his sublime bass playing, so please look him up, you might love his sound too. Still, neither Pekka nor Pierre will easily be surpassed.
An incredible musician and composer, Pekka Pohjola is perhaps one of the most under-rated bass players of all times. Rather unknown too... You have to come across a lot of good music to get to listen to him - perhaps it's the way it should be, since his music is quite sophisticated and requires a refined ear to be fully appreciated...
HI There, can anybody help me to get the Album "New Views" of Pierre's Band Tribute? I purchased it in 85 in a little club, while losing a pinball match with the one and only Pierre.
(ok, never mess with a drummer within a voluntary pinball competition *gg*). Years ago, years ago....
Years later I gave away that LP,moved to another town, and never received the LP back.
I bought this album when I went on holidays in Finland... I remember the surprise of the guy at the shop seeing a foreigner so happy to find an album of Pekka Pohjola ! Of course it was because Mike Oldfield was playing in it, but I later bought two others albums of PP, and they were good too.
I certainly am sorry to hear that he is no longer with us, I admit to purchasing this LP purely to hear MO and SO, but nevertheless he cuts the mustard...
i wishd id was like pekka pohjola some day

Wow, I still have the vinyl album, as I wanted to have everything related to Pierre Moerlen and Mike Oldfield.
