My first exposure to Curtis was in 1990 at the Dandelion Pub in Northwest Portland. I used to live on 21st and Burnside. Tonya Mathis are you out there????????????

The story is that he was in the black suit, with the hat, doing his thing in the northwest, when Belushi saw him while filming Animal House. So Belushi took Curtis's stage show and created the Blues Brothers. As they say in the business, "Amateurs copy, but professionals steal." Hahaha

@TSaxman74 Actually, Curt went to Hollywood and *taught* Belushi and Ackroyd how to do his act. His name was on the movie credits, then his name was not on the movie credits. They were real pros.

I can remember watching Curtis Salgado and the Stillettos at Waterfront Park near the Hawthorne Bridge.

You should come see him sometime when he plays Trails End Saloon (or elsewhere)....He is better than ever. My Dog met Curtis and let me know he likes him too because Curtis knew just how he likes to be petted. Duke wore his Hearing Protection that night, just in case, even though the Band was not loud enough to really hurt his ears. Curtis has one of the tightest acts around with no need be excessively loud to try to impress the audience.
