Being a HUGE Final Fantasy fan, I was glad to see Terra, Cecil and Zidane (though if you could guess by my name, I like Zack the most :). Zidane is a really good character, I agree. His "Not Alone" scene on Terra is easily one of the most powerful moments I've seen in a video game, let alone Final Fantasy (a series with a plethora of memorable scenes). Good list!

I think by your reasoning the list should be titled "Top Ten Best Developed Video Game Heroes" or something similar. If you're going off just how much of an icon they are, it's going to be like Mario, Link, Kirby, Sonic, Master Chief, Laura Croft, etc.
But I think Alice from American McGee's Alice would fit nicely on a list like this, along with Kyle Katarn from Jedi Outcast, Alyx Vance from Half-Life, and Snake from MGS should DEFINITELY be on here.

@Goukeban Lara Croft isn't really a very good character. She is an iconic figure in video games, but as a character she isn't that good or well developed. It's a bit like Master Chief really. An icon, but subpar as a character. Mario is also somewhat similar, but as far as video game icons go, Mario's on a whole different level from almost any other character.
@Darashiva I agree. Mario has a great importance to the game industry, helping it to arise after Atari and Game indunstry's crash in 84, and is the ost important haracer of platforme games.

I almost cheered when I saw Caim on this list. One of the best unheard of games ever. I have seen other games try to get that dark protaganist but they don't hit it as well as Caim, mostly they try and accomplish it by taking away all personality, but he had something under all his rage that you could relate to.
Also had to turn away for Chrono, just got the game on my DS and haven't gotten that far yet.
XO what about the elder scrolls guy? hes pretty epic if youve ever played the elder scrolls game, infact 11/11/11 is when they come out with the 5th one. Thar's sure a great list! In first of all, it's surprising: I didn't expect to see my favorite caracter on 2# place. I mean, I like link very much, but I know that he isn't the most deep character.

I got chillbumps when I saw the Link scene. I was disappointed however that sonic, kirby, and Sora weren't on the list. While I agree that FF series has some top end characters, I would like to see you make some lists without any of them, they don't have many reoccuring heroes so they tend to take up a portion of the list. If you do choose anyone from the FF series try only choosing one instead of 2+. Good job though.

Finally, someone chose my favorite Final Fantasy character for one of these list. Zidane was literally the first FF character I played and continue to find him greatly underrated, I mean, they make a sequel to FF VII and FF X, but not FF IX !?

personal suggestion:can I ask one stupid little question?I see you like japanese games a lot,but you must have serious issues if you think this top 10 contains only game heroes from japanese games.
In other words,where is Gordon Freeman,where is Lara Croft,where is Duke Nukem,and last but not least,WHERE THE FUCK IS DOOMGUY?

@Antimanele104 Only one of those characters I would even consider on this list is Gordon Freeman. I do admit that this is an old list and a lot of it would change should I make it now.

@Darashiva wel,maybe,but how come the Doomguy cannot be considered a game hero?He is just as old as many of us who comment around here,and to be honest,he marked the first stage in the FPS stage.Maybe I am a little to addicted to the Doom series,but seriously,he is a well-known hero.

Im sorry, for your other videos ive stayed calm and respectful, but this time you've gone too far. WHERE THE HELL IS CLOUD????? Or Gordon Freeman, for that matter. I guess I can see why you left Freeman out, but Cloud has one of the deepest backgrounds of any character, he is well written, well known, and is the hero to your villiain #3. How can you overlook the most popular hero in RPG history?

@thatguy8922 Well, Cloud is a great character, but in my opinion the Final Fantasy series has several better once as well, such as Zidane from FF IX. It's just a matter of opinion really.

Thar's sure a great list! In first of all, it's surprising: I didn't expect to see my favorite caracter on 2# place. I mean, I like link very much, but I know that he isn't the most deep character.
It's still surprising because, some 13year babies would say "No, Kratos should be the 1, he is the greatest Badass" (ignoring that "badass" is NOT the same of deeper), or some fanboys would cry "No, should be Mario", "No, should be Cloud". OK, I'll end it now, but, congratulations, is a great list.

I got chillbumps when I saw the Link scene. I was disappointed however that sonic, kirby, and Sora weren't on the list. While I agree that FF series has some top end characters, I would like to see you make some lists without any of them, they don't have many reoccuring heroes so they tend to take up a portion of the list. If you do choose anyone from the FF series try only choosing one instead of 2+. Good job though.
