  • I was at this concert. U.I.C. Pavilloin, Quiet Riot opened. One and only with Ian Gillian. Born Again Very Interesting.

  • This is crazy. First time I'm hearing this version. Even Tony likes to play Smoke on the Water...lol Sounds weird without keyboards though.

  • ! album....1 tour....thats all ian did...deep purple reformed months after this was recorded, They then released perfect strangers..

  • to all you Morons making stupid comments if you were a real fan you would know IAN GILLAN of DEEP PURPLE was in BLACK SABBATH for a while and recorded a great album with them BORN AGAIN even most casual fans know this so shut up and enjoy they are both great.

  • @ProdigalSin Thank you!!..I concur!!

  • the vocals ruined Tonys guitar, would b better with Ozzy.

  • @thebeastman88 Ian sang that song. It's Deep Purple's. It best to hear when Ian will sing it.

  • @thebeastman88 In my humble opinion , the song here is a little wierd--not bad at all! dont get me wrong. But Blackmoore plays this riff w/3 fingers and no pick. That is what makes 10000000 guitar players play in guitar stores soung like a mess.Tony God Bless Him! cant play the riff like Blackmoore. and i prefer Tony as a guitarist by FAR!!

  • the vocals ruined Tonys guitar, would b better with ozzy.

  • that is black sabbath, the singer from deep purple ian gillian plays for 2 or 3 year with black sabbath. that is ian gillian with black sabbath.

  • Was at this show. Parts of it were so fucking loud, you didn't even know what song it was until about 10 or 15 sec. into the song. Lost some of my hearing there that night and thats no bullshit. Great night....

  • strange....

  • black sabbath does deep purple...cool.

  • this isnt black sabbath

  • This is about as genuine as Axl rose playing Sweet Child O Mine with Buckethead and the guy from NIN...

Ian always sounds great, but the band is missing the feel of the song completely.

  • better than deep purple...

  • straight2helll,you are a loser.

tony couldn't pull off what page has done.

go listen to their first recrd which influenced sabbath

two years prior to sabbath's first record in 1970.

you tone deaf faggot.everybody wants to be zeppelin.

  • @gibsongold1970 Fail, because Jimmy's best riffs are shit compared to Tony's best riffs. Count Stairway to heaven out, because the famous opening riff wasn't his riff, it was stolen. Anything Jimmy can do on lead can be matched by Iommi, too. So Tony wins.

  • @ToaJoe but whose more innovative???? Page by far....its not even a contest. Love both, but Page has the upper hand

  • Iommi is a very underated guitarist to me he puts Page to shame.

  • il suono e lo stile di tony sono inconfondibili

  • Nice version, and Iommi is great even though him and Ritchie are contempararies, but Iommi Sounds different as Ritchie uses Strats and Tony uses Epiphone mostly...

  • Actually I have never seen Iommi play on an Epiphone. From my knowledge Tony Iommi played John Birch, JayDee and Gibson guitars primarily (back in the old days and recently)

Though he used to play on a Fender strat back in the late sixties before it broke, and he march on using Gibson SG.

  • ritchie and tony both use a treblebooster.

that is where you get that sick tone.

  • Just listen to the power of Tony's guitar... damn!

  • Iommi ROCKS the solo!

  • Don't think this is great to be honest, seems to just plod along.

  • Tony's guitar sounds like a Montster playing that riff, must be the humbuckers giving that growl

  • Ritchie's tone wasn't really much different, really. Tony does have a bit more crunch here, I think, which I kinda like.

  • there are black sabbath?

  • Hey So what the hell!

Tony joined Deep Purple or Ian Joined Sabbath?

Or did just join the two bands together and play each other band's material. Did they still play hits like iron man and Paranoid?

    Tony is on guitar right?

  • Ian replaced Ronnie Dio in Sabbath. They only did Born Again with Gillan then he left.

  • This is not the Chicago show. In the Chicago show, Ian messed up the lyrics. This is most probably the King Biscuit radio broadcast of November 04, 1983 in Worcester, MA. I'm 99% sure that this is that show.

  • youre right about it being worchester. i just did an audio search for that concert and its the same.

  • Yeah, I also have the Chicago show. This isn't it.
