Not Gloss black it reflects the heat heat use matt so it absorbes the heat

how did you get the fan out to spray it?

you have to unhook it, just take out the entire fan from the case, take off the sticker or black cork thing depends on what fan, and there should be a small plastic ring around the shaft you have to un hook it with tweezers preferably; then you can take the fan blades out and spray paint them :D

just did this with my delta fan, putting UV cathodes around it to give it a nice glow, hopefully it'll turn out as nice as the LED's have...

How did you remove the old fans without damaging them?

do you mean from the antec 1200,

well its fairly simple take out a single bay and there are clips on either side of the bay that you need to press on to release the fan cage. Then once you have it removed you need to get out the wire that is on the side of the bay and all you have left to do is take out the two scews and your good to go, well there is also a reostat but that is fairly simple :D.

tjharlow has a few vids of him taking out the case fans go check those out, they are earlier ones :D

Yeah, I got it. Thanks for the help. I'm almost done modding my case. I ripped out the back fan steel grill and replaced them with aftermarket ones. I'm just about done painting most of the case a gun metal.

i got what u meant the first time, i was just saying that i dont have the time to get a thick coat of clear over it and then wet sand that to get the perfect look to it but im sure it would help with cfm but not by much since its only minor bumps

but i would like to see someone else do it and test the difference :D

you would be surprised but the texture is about the same, i wished it was smoother but i would have to go back and use clear for all the fans to get a super smooth surface,

maybe when i do the 200mm fan ill use some clear but i doubt it since the step is unnecessary

i saw a guy painting it red he said he didn't show up that good in night time only in daylight it will show good. i'm thinking silver might look good it would shine on the chrome i guess i unno

hmmm makes sense, im sure if you had some white cold cathodes it would show up but im sure it would look good red white sliver....

sounds like a good color combo but you may just be better trying it on a small fan that you have lying around and see how it looks before painting all your fans :D

you have to take of the back sticker

then remove a round plastic washer then the fan blades should just slide off for painting very simple but yeah im pretty sure i did make a vid on it :D
