i have been brick lane from whitechapel road into osborn street then i went to the ideastore in whitechapel, i also been bethnal green bow plaistow isle of dogs canary wharf stepney poplar limehouse other places in tower hamlets.
that was ace.... i dont live in london any more but the latter half of the film was my daily walk to work exactly!!!! and it stopped just outside my old work on commercial street!!! memories are good things .... thank you very much!!!!
Interesting trip. I used to work for Truman's nearly 50 years ago when "Truman's Brewery" really was a brewery. Have lived abroad for many years now and was facinated to see what had become of this site in Brick Lane. Could actually see the door to the old Bottled Beer Order Office where I used to work.
People who can trace east end roots have had to move away from the place their families have called home for generations. This in effect destroyed the east end completely. I can deal with the fact the east end is gone and accept that my family will no more live within the sound of the bow bells, what I cant take is a ponce who has just moved to the area tell us all how lucky they are to live in such a happening place. This is not your 'little piece of London', it will always belong to us.
i agree with you completeley, parts of manchester are becoming outpriced for families who have lived there for years, a few new bars etc and people move in pronounce there selves as bohos or trendies, and take over the fuckin area
Thank you very much for this beautifull journey, even if I do walk these streets everyday..I just saw them from a different point of view, reaminding me how beautiful is my hood and how much we forgot when we get used to walk here..tomorrow..i will walk these streets like when i did it for first time again. Thanks.
Here is where i live, work, go out with my friends, where i do my shopping and where i walk everyday. This is my little piece of London, the most exciting and trendy london area in art terms where pubs, shops, markets, restaurants and clubs give you the perfect example of what's going on in our world today.
This movie is old. You should do the trip again after 5 years :-).

Yes terrific I was in digs in Bethnal Green Rd in 1953.
I wish he gave street names I could follow on my A-Z
It looked cold, pedestrians rule the street. Great stuff thanks.
He was driving from Shoreditch around the neighbourhood.
Nice memories I worked in screen printing shop in Shoreditch

That's fantastic! Where do you live now?
It's changed in the five years I've lived in the area. It must have changed incredibly since you were there!
