Thanks for posting. I love Cretan music and I've visited Ross Daly's fascinating little music museum at Houdetsi near Heraklion. Anyone who likes the opening piece should buy Stelios Petrakis' CD Orion which includes it.

I thought the oud looking instruments at 5:26 were ouds. Ross Daly is playing a nak tarhu which is made in Australia and is a hybrid of instruments originally from Turkey and Azerbaijan. Just what you'd expect an Irishman to play when demonstrating the Cretan tradition!
