i had a uk version sti with a mines ecu in it and it would do 150mph and it was pretty much standard, wouldnt get to 150 as quick as this one but fast for a road car. i think if it was a standard gearbox in this sti it would have fell out of it long ago impossible in my opinion coz that car is far from standard and that would be one of the first things you would upgraid with the engine. nothin beats an evo for handling do they go around bends like their on rails

@jamesthq 300 hp to the ground is pretty good but you wont want to stop there...but it is competitive and you will def have fun..awd is def a plus but takes getting used too...you wont be able to do clutch dumps with out upgrading..i dont care what that nosegaurd idiot says...if you have an upgraded clutch that holds the power and transfers it to the drivetrian like i do you well definitley tear up your tranny, and rear end..probably drive shaft too...stiffer motor mounts a good idea too....

Actually, once you get into the 8's range it is hard to go any faster with a manual. The reason is that a manual, no matter how fast you shift it will always disconnect power from the driveshafts. In an auto, you have a TQ converter that is always applying power to the wheels. Thsi also alows the turbo to stay spooled the entire run. Yes, the fastest 1/4 cars are 2 or 3 speed autos. MT are put into high end sports cars because people want to shift. For drag racing though, auto is king.
Everyone races with a manual transmission because that is the most common transmission among the high performance cars on the track. Take a Supra for example. They have some damn fast 6 speed times out there. But the times you will see with the automatic or powerglide transmissions are atleast a whole second faster. Less lag in between gears and faster engagement. But I will let some of the other guru's chime in to let you know how dumb you are...

@diego571 there is no waaay it was a stock gear box... its obviously a dog box you can hear it shift.....no way the stock tranny could handle that.. im on my second tranny and have alot less hp's than this car...ive seen it in a magazine and it clearly stated it did not have a stock gearbox....

@noseguard53 just because the description says its a stock gearbox dont make it so...you can clearly see on the onboard video of this car its a dog box with clutchless shifting..hence the non stock gearbox...not to mention i exploded my 5spd wrx tranny with 348whp...also i have 3 friends who upgraded trannys and rearends because its a fact...that stock gearboxs dont hold up..your completely stupid...i would hang you with your own intestines if you were in my presence..

@howellusn 'Most' of the big supras in the 7's and 8's are autos. Not all. Give respect to the crazy bastards that are running those numbers with the Getrags. I have a buddy that converted his big turbo MkIII to a built TH350 so he could hit 9's, now is back to a R154 and trying to hit 9's again more for the challenge than anything. (Dyno'd 8xx? whp through the auto hoping for 9xx whp through the STOCK R154 5speed.)
