  • This was my high school anthem. "With such a promising future there ain't no way to go wrong." I got married. It went way wrong. "Don't get married children!"

  • Am looking for Hot Tuna's song John's Other. Can't find it as if it never existed. Really cool violin playing on it.

  • mowambo says; dont forget bob steeler on drums; the feel of this song is mostly on his shoulders. he should get more credit for driving this along while jamming at the same time. not an easy thing to do.

  • nothing ever sounded like this in history!

  • and the live versions in double dose or in and furthermore are great also!

  • I used to love hot tuna, back in ma day

  • ok so I heard a hot tuna song the other day and I don't remember what it was. I can't find it anywhere.

it starts with a guitar solo probably about 45 seconds long and the guitar is distorted with a phaser sounding effect on it. there's about 30 seconds or a minute of singing then another hendrixy solo. it's all pentatonic stuff, very blues rock

  • Probably my favorite Hot Tuna song. I saw them at Commack Arena in Long Island in 1977 and the show blew my mind-they played until about 3:00 in the morning. It was one of the craziest nights of my life.

  • I was at the Commack show in 1977, too. A friend got me the ticket to pay me back for breaking my hookah. We were tripping on "Purple-T". Every note was pure ecstasy. I was deaf for about two days afterwards and it was completely worth it.

  • @wackajuwacka Over 30 years later, people still talk about that show in Commack. I still go to shows, mostly in N.Y.C.,and few compare with that show in excitement and energy.I saw some crazy shit that night - some of it bad - but overall it was an incredible experience.Peace.

  • Classic Tuna!! Saw them in Truckee Ca a couple of ye

  • If Aliens land and ever ask what Rock and Roll sounded like. Funky #7

  • drilliant

  • I've got a killer version of this from 1975 at Walt Whitman college, Brooklyn NY.

  • You must mean Walt Whitman Auditorium - its the performance hall at Brooklyn College. I saw Hot Tuna once, during that time frame (within a year or so) at the Palladium in Manhattan.

  • Damn this song is fucking good! What a groove! Never heard it before in my life!

  • Funky!!

    'Turn my money green....!!!

  • whenever i listen to america's choice.... im 18 years old again :o)

  • No doubt, great year 1975. I saw Hot Tuna that summer at Central Park. I got in at a side gate without a ticket for 5 bucks. What a show, what women, what mesciline. LOL

  • hear it loud! song full of genius and adrenaline.

  • The best Tuna song! Got the live version?

  • Glad you like it...yeah great song!!! 8)

Unfortunately I don't have it live...if I did I would have posted it.

  • Somebody else did...just do a search on this song including the word 'live' and you should find it. It is an outstanding version!!! 8-)

  • Yum! Hot Fucking Tuna!

  • This came out at the same time that "Red Octopus" with "Miracles" came out for Starship in 1975.

"Invitation" and "Great Divide" are songs I would play at 1 AM on my FM show.

It was a good year for music as disco would be NEXT year.

  • Nice...an old time fave

  • This is REFINED acid rock...~!

  • Absolutely. Great observation!!! I think what Jorma and Jack did with Hot Tuna was the natural extension of the 'acid rock' they were doing with the Airplane in the 60's.

  • this is just a fucking awesome song

  • Yeah, absolutely. Jorma and Jack made some great music. Glad you liked this. 8)
