is this marty singing i could swear this is his voice and i know marty voice i grew up with it and listened to all his songs he was airplane with jorma, kantner, and cassidy.
This was my high school anthem. "With such a promising future there ain't no way to go wrong." I got married. It went way wrong. "Don't get married children!"
mowambo says; dont forget bob steeler on drums; the feel of this song is mostly on his shoulders. he should get more credit for driving this along while jamming at the same time. not an easy thing to do.
ok so I heard a hot tuna song the other day and I don't remember what it was. I can't find it anywhere.
it starts with a guitar solo probably about 45 seconds long and the guitar is distorted with a phaser sounding effect on it. there's about 30 seconds or a minute of singing then another hendrixy solo. it's all pentatonic stuff, very blues rock
I was at that Commack show and holy shit...they did play to almost 3:00 and it was and still is one of the loudest shows I have ever been to...just one graet show..Hot Fn Tuna
Probably my favorite Hot Tuna song. I saw them at Commack Arena in Long Island in 1977 and the show blew my mind-they played until about 3:00 in the morning. It was one of the craziest nights of my life.
I was at the Commack show in 1977, too. A friend got me the ticket to pay me back for breaking my hookah. We were tripping on "Purple-T". Every note was pure ecstasy. I was deaf for about two days afterwards and it was completely worth it.
@wackajuwacka Over 30 years later, people still talk about that show in Commack. I still go to shows, mostly in N.Y.C.,and few compare with that show in excitement and energy.I saw some crazy shit that night - some of it bad - but overall it was an incredible experience.Peace.
You must mean Walt Whitman Auditorium - its the performance hall at Brooklyn College. I saw Hot Tuna once, during that time frame (within a year or so) at the Palladium in Manhattan.
No doubt, great year 1975. I saw Hot Tuna that summer at Central Park. I got in at a side gate without a ticket for 5 bucks. What a show, what women, what mesciline. LOL
Absolutely. Great observation!!! I think what Jorma and Jack did with Hot Tuna was the natural extension of the 'acid rock' they were doing with the Airplane in the 60's.
Groovy shit indeed dude! .-)

Am looking for Hot Tuna's song John's Other. Can't find it as if it never existed. Really cool violin playing on it.

This came out at the same time that "Red Octopus" with "Miracles" came out for Starship in 1975.
"Invitation" and "Great Divide" are songs I would play at 1 AM on my FM show.
It was a good year for music as disco would be NEXT year.
