  • @gogirk Im not saying give it all the time but it has properties that hammies need

  • oh sweetie honey is bad for hamsters

  • @gogirk In small amounts it isn't

  • @IndescribableWords it us kind if hun

  • I have that exact cage! Hi 5!!!

  • I don't think it is healthy to have ur master chewing tissues

  • @mila4444ful it is totally fine look it up anywhere

  • I swear your trying to sell everyone who watches this an ovo, they are crap anyways, too small and too expensive, you could just buy a much bigger cage with bars. Then you can provide stimulation with climbing. You know nothing about hamsters.

  • or for an even better cage, get an crittertrail discovery cage. its bigger than hers and ever though there are a few bars on the top, hamsters cant chew on it cause they are high up. and it provides more fun and even better ventalation. its probably cheaper to.

  • You know you said to try and not get a cage with bars, well you should, your hamsters will get distressed if they can't climb, they love to climb and you should always supply something that they can climb on (Syrians in particular) And the best cage in the world is actually the critter trail 3 story cage, with bars!! So take back what you said! Fair enough if you hamster bites its bars too much, then get some chew stopper spray, it is availabe in nearly every pet shop!

  • hi atbrox, im getting a plastic top and bottom cage with wired middle, would that be suitable?it's a three storey cage and its pink and blue.

thanks for all these video but could you please do a video about hamster food and bedding! thanks

  • XD I only threw away my ovo because my hamster fluffball was smart enough to find a way to get out of it XD but she got out of her tank too, so ether way, we would of had to nail the thing in place. XD

  • yhu could expand aquariums cuz at some pet stores they have attachments to aquariums so its bigger so its like two levels i guess but uuh yaa lol

  • lol no actual olives he hates them! :)

  • horrible cage!

  • @Mondlichtfee How would you know? It is actually one of the best cages in the world, so I'd take that back.

  • @atbrox Alot of people put down the OVO because it hasnt got a lot of room for larger toys. My wire bar cage currently has 7 things she can chew, not including her nest box or the cardboard box she is obsessed with. And none of these are those small chew sticks.

  • @MeerasLife My OVO was huge, it had 3 cages and lots of attachments and tubes. I fit a lot in there and it was very spacious.

  • @MeerasLife Well said. I found this out the hard way, and I regret purchasing my OVO cages. My hamster has been trying to chew a hole through the cage! The ventilation also isn't as good as a wire cage. A wire cage is cheaper, as well. However, wire cages don't have as good of a locking system as the Habitrail OVO cages. Personally, I'd recommend purchasing one massive plastic storage tub and drilling ventilation holes into it. Way cheaper and I think it's much safer for the hamster. [:

  • I used to put olives onto my old bar cage ^^

  • @MsHamsterhelp olives...? Like olive oil?

  • hey, you know a lot about hamster, but you shouldn't give your hamster sugar, like honey or peanutbutter. furthermore these ovo-habitrail cages are too small for hamsters. they need a cage which is 100x50cm long, because they like to run a lot. moreover, a tank has a better ventilation than this ovo thing, because a tank is entirely open and these ovo cages only have little holes. otherwise, the idea with the TP roll is great!

  • @Meredith1917 I do. Giving hamsters small amounts of sugar is fine every once and a while, I do not give it everyday, nor for a week sometimes. My habitrail cage is not too small, in total it is WAY more than 100x50cm, I have 4 different cages and 10 or more different attachments. Believe me, it's big. Actually, tanks have less ventilation, OVOs have more because of their sphere concept. Air flow is better! Thanks!

  • @atbrox Well, hamsters shouldn't get ANY sugar..even it is once in a while. its bad for their teeth and cheek pouches. It doesen't matter if you have many attachments, because the hamster has to have the possibility to run a distance (1 meter) straight! thats not possible with a ovo. how to you know the ventilation is better? from the box of your ovo? well, I know that a tank has a better ventilation when it is not higher than wide, otherwise not.

  • I have to get the habitrail ovo chage because my chage has bars. But I' happy because the chage is so saml

  • @habitrailovo10 Awesome :) Have fun with your OVO!

  • accucally, bars are the best, cause they circulate air unlike, ones with out bars, like tanks, or ovos, etc. Cages with out bars are most likely to cause amonia, and get your hamster sick. [:

  • @questionmark4U Actually, incorrect. Cages with bars have about the same ventilation as the OVO. OVOs are designed to have good air flow and air circulation, that is why they are shaped oddly. To me, I prefer them over bar cages, because they have the same ventilation and are safer. Tanks may trap a bit of air, but they have open top air flow, instead of at the sides like bar cages.

  • @atbrox I have tried a ovo before, and it did not circulate air at all :[. Which is why i have bought a bar cage, and indeed, i have also tried a tank cage as well. I love the way the ovo is designed and the overall look though. And it doesn't hurt when hamsters chew on the bars. If they do, it means your not taking the hamster out as much as you should. [:

  • @questionmark4U Then, there was a problem with the model you had. My friend and I both have OVO, and we love it. They ventilate really well for us, I don't know about you. Being unsafe doesn't have to do with the chewing, well actually my friend's hamster basically chaffed off his fur and a layer of skin chewing on the bars. It is for mental well being, nothing to do with social interaction, some hamsters will chew even if they have chew treats, and social interaction. I have seen cases...

  • @atbrox Hmm how did it chaf of his fur?.... and there wasnt a problem with my model. :[.

  • @questionmark4U the metal on the bars isn't good for them, the coating can rub hard against the fur and skin.

  • @questionmark4U where the hamster got a part of their body stuck in the bars, getting their little bones broken by the heavy clicking door, the bars having sharp mental that pierces into the hamsters skin when they chew, and stuff like the cages collapsing on the hamster. I have structured criticism towards these bar cages, so please don't be offended :)

  • @atbrox LMAFO, im not offended :P. but what cage did she have? Bars dont have sharp metal pieces :(. In this case not mine lol

  • @questionmark4U She has the OVO Loft and OVO Adventure Pack!

  • @atbrox i was accually thinking of getting the mini maze so pepper has something to do, can the tubes connect to the crittertrail cages? :/

  • @questionmark4U no, they do not connect. If you tried OVO you should know they can't!

  • @atbrox i have hehe but a loong time ago though, the newer versions of crittertrail look like the exact same lock connecter ;).

  • @questionmark4U no, they actually don't. I have actually tried to connect the two, but crittertrail's tubes are too small and don't have the right groves to fit the lock.

  • @atbrox oh i have never tried. my cousin has been able to connect them though,....

  • @questionmark4U interesting... if you want OVO so bad, then why not use OVO and not Crittertrail?

  • @atbrox Cause i have had bad experiences with the ovo ^.^ all i want is for pepper to have something fun connected to his cage all i can think about is the minimaze by ovo [:

  • @questionmark4U what do you mean 'bad experiences'? The mini maze isn't that fun... it's just a small peanut shaped attachment that my hamster sleeps in XD

If you want something 'fun' you have to get it form Crittertrail, OVO won't attach!

  • @atbrox Hhaha just had and i have to ask my cousin how he got it attactched! [:

  • Okay sorry haha, so anyway it has two chew toys a punch bag shaped wooden one, and this pink one that's suppose to be sort of like a toothbrush but it hardly uses them, is it because it's still settling in? , oh and it doesn't know how to use the hamster wheel i've tried moving it and it doesn't take interest and it's a plastic one fits fine and is basically clipped on to the wall and its smooth, please help and sorry for lots of writing, thanks

  • @JNLocky My hamster never chews those wooden ones. They do not taste good, and can give splinters sometimes. I recommend trying Nutriphase Natural Nibblers, the berry and nut kind. They are basically irresistible for a lot of hamsters. How long have you had your hamster? If less than a week, your hamster is still settling in. Let it get used to it's home at it's own pace.

  • @atbrox Thanks ill get it some tasty ones but i do have one which are called EMOTION Kracker things they attatch to the cage and smell of like cinamon and have like some sort of letters all over it and has food on it. and yes i got it sunday so im on day 4 :)

  • @JNLocky emotion kracker...? Then your hamster is doing fine if it's day 4. Let it settle in :) And may I ask, do you know if it is a boy or girl?

  • @atbrox I found out today at the vet that it is a boy & yeah there sort of like kebabs with different flavours the one i have is a cinamon packet and a honey one so yeah, and i followed you're advise and got a saltlick stone but the chew thing they didn't sell but hey it has enough chew's now, I know there's no point in saying but my hamster is at my dad's house so i can only see it on Tuesday's and most weekends and every sunday until tea time, im convincing my mum to let me have it there.

  • Okay i have a few questions, my hamster is three months old not sure what breed but it had long fur and is biggish, anyway i just got it this monday and i have a sort of tank with bars at the top to put my hand in and i've tried taming it and yes it took food of me for a while now it doesn't take it anymore, it still sniffs and and ocasionally lets me stroke it why doesn't it take the food anymore. Okay running out of words ill do another post with the next question sorry :D

  • @JNLocky Okay :) Your hamster is probably a Long haired Syrian. Is your hamster eating normally? If not your hamster could be showing early signs of an illness.

  • @atbrox Okay sorry didn't see this reply i dont see it eating often or drinking its probably at night it stores food in the corner of the cage and its a bit of it but not so much of the drink, i took it to the vet today and found out it was a he so it's called Houdini ill make a video of him. :)

  • @atbrox Awesome!

  • Cool Video and you should make a video about how to play with your hamster like teaching them tricks and playing games with them.

  • @PictoWarrior thanks, I will when Martin is feeling better!

  • u should make a vid bout thing u need for a hamster nd nice vid

  • @sk8rjay08 that was requested so yeah :) and thanks

  • Can you do a hamster diet video?

  • @cocoaluo1999 I was going to do that either next or next next :)

  • @atbrox Okay Thanks

  • can u make a video about bathing hamsters?? and where did u get ur cage from?? thankx

  • @PandiEars You are not supposed to bathe a hamster, it takes away natural oils which can seriously harm him. I got my cages from Petsmart!

  • Thanks, this helped a lot...you should be a vet

  • @PandiEars no problem. I kind of want to be :)
