The Canada Lands Company is a federal Crown corporation that buys property from DND, Agriculture Canada, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Transport Canada, Canada Post, Natural Resources Canada, Atomic Energy of Canada, Veteran's Affairs, Corrections Canada (Prison for Women in Kingston, Laval Pen), etc. The Canada Lands Company plans to acquire Shannon Park.
The reason nothing has been done with Shannon Park, ie stadium, demolish, etc, is because the First Nations actually own the land. When Hali pulled out of the bid for the CanGames, nothing's been done. Now it's completely infested with rats and other vermin, and it would cost more to repair or destroy it, than to leave it standing empty. It's a shame, really.
My dad lived there for 7 months in the 90s, it looks just like the buildings in Chernobyl. What they should do is tear it down and make like a big hockey rink to replace the old shannon one, and also my friend goes to that school there (justinbishop3)
Some douchebag from Ontario or China will make an overpriced rental shit hole out of it. There's some waterfront there.... not much, but just enough to justify charging twice as much rent that such a shit hole is worth.
