  • There should be a streetcar line from Berkeley looping the campus and downtown, then a light rail line down to Berkeley with stops in Rockridge, Temescal, Uptown, Downtown Oakland BART stations. Circling downtown Oakland and Lake Merritt there should be two streetcar lines serving Grand Lake, Piedmont Ave, Lake Merritt BART, Chinatown, and JSL. More transit convenience means more people, more business, and most importantly LESS CRIME.

  • BRT is a terrible idea. Buses do not inspire urban renewal and walkable communities - light rail and streetcars do. They cost more but they more than pay for themselves with all the development, business, and quality of life improvement they bring. Look to Portland as the example to follow.

  • How about making a 51R Line?

  • @MLGMedia 51BAR would be awesome! or a 51bR would be nice too.
