For such a powerful creature it sure is dumb... just looking at 1 warrior while priests heal him and wizards blast it? Why do they make boss encounters so dumb... relying on "agro" instead of actual intelligence?

Ive played warhammer and i kind of liked it, nice graphics and cool lore and stuf BUT there were like no players at all and they like try to stack lots of servers into huge ones but still theres 2 low population, it feels pretty solo but if you just look at the quality of their low level dungeons for example that are truly amazing! its as good as a lvl 80 wow endgame raid! and thats only for lvl 10 on warhammer :D you could download the free trial at their site ;) GL

@TheKamikazeen I disagree completely. None of the dungeons in WAR were scripted, they were all random battles. It's why i ended up leaving, especially considering endgame was utter shit.

This game looks plain and simply epic, I played WoW, i got bored of WoW, i downloaded the trial for this and fell in love with it, would you say its worth buying and becoming a regular to it, ive been tempted for a couple of weeks and decided I might pick it up next time im out.

One of them, yes. He's the boss at the end of the game's first 12-person raid. There's also Thorog, and undead dragon, and many other bosses in the new Moria content.

@jpaulkeller The Balrogs were like Sauron, only pets to the REAL badass, MORGOTH, Think of the scene where The Balrog and Gandalf fight as a scene from "the Immortal" the winner gains a shitload of knowledge and exp. Making Gandalf a White Wizard.

No. You can play as orcs, spiders, or wargs though, in what they call PvMP (Player-vs-Monster-player).

In the game, this battle occurs in an instance called the Rift of Narz Gashu; it's not Moria. This is a lesser balrog. You get to see the Moria balrog (aka Durin's Bane) during Session Play in the new Mines of Moria expansion.

We killed him after several attempts with our kinship as well (in cca 12 members). It is good when he is 12k-10k to start conjunction on him and not to press any color, just keep attacking him, he wakes up at aound 6k-4k and then it is just about luck not to get wiped :-). I remember he wiped us once at 2,5k :-). We did like 20 attempts before we were successfull. The most important thing is to have hope buff from Rivendell or at least buy hope for destiny points after first 2 fights +hope order

The Balrog doesn't have any armour, but he has a sword and chain, much like other Balrogs.

so everytime u do a raid u get a gem and when u get the right amount of gems u can swap it for armour

The effect depends on how much dread you have, I think. Also, there are different settins under the Advanced Graphics options you can enable or disable. But I just use the default values, on High Quality graphics.

You get: - 1 gem you trade in for the Shoulder piece of the Rift set - 1 gem for the weapon or shield - a chain-link that gives your group +3 stackable Hope for 3 hours - which really helps the next time you fight the Balrog (we didn't have it for this, our first time). - You get a really nice trophy (his sword) that you can put in your yard - You also get a lot of other somewhat decent purple items.

Each boss in the raid drops a gem. The gems bind-on-acquire; you can't give/trade/sell them.

Each gem is bartered for a piece of armor, which is part of a set (with bonuses based on how many pieces you are wearing). So, unlike some games, everyone in the raid can use the gem - but you turn it in for something that is specific to your class.

A raid has 12 people. 8 bosses will drop a minimum of 8 gems, plus a couple other rare items sometimes. Most players get 1 item during the raid.
