  • Hi carolyn i was wondering how u make a mermaid wedding gown??

  • @LANEDOGG77

You would have to get your hands on a pattern the shape you like. I draw mine from the basic dress block pattern but it would be easier to go for one already drawn. x

  • Hi Carolyn, I bought the patterns for the carina dress and realised that the first and the second front top shell are different shapes to what i see in this video. I only realised it after i finished cutting my cloth. Ii'm wondering if there is something wrong that I'm doing or is it the problem with the patterns. I wish I could send a picture of the pattern or may be if u have it, you can look into it.

  • @tchoden115

Oh give me a email through my website and i'll have a look. x

  • @carolynbax- what if you don't have the cut outs? How can you make the dress then?

  • what type of interfacing did u use?

  • you are so talented!

  • hi, what does interfacing do?

  • @2006kcl

Hi! It just stops the fabric from fraying- you can use an overlocker but those machines are expensive and not a lot of people have one. xx

  • @carolynbax thank you! i was wondering what sewing machine u use, and how much it was? i am really confused about what to buy to mak a dress like this. i can sew, but i dont know which model/brand of machine is best. thanks. x

  • @2006kcl

I have a silver but my dad bought me it and I think it was expensive. It has loads of fancy things you can do but really I just sew straight lines so don't go for anything fancy- just maybe the lowest model in a good brand. xx

  • @carolynbax thanks for replying. it's always good to ask an expert! i cant wait to try making one of your dresses. im just really nervous about using satin, people tell me the fabric snags abit under the needle/machine, and can ruin the material/outfit :S x

  • @2006kcl

Just keep your needle sharp! xx

  • I was hoping to buy your pattern for this dress, to make for a party in a few weeks but the shop section of your website is not working, do you know when it will be? :)

  • @Jettiifer

    It's back up now!!

Had to take down my site to change the colours of the extensions etc

  • You are amazing :) !!!

  • What kind of thread do you use? I haven't found any sturdy thread that I can trust when sewing..

  • @DailyBread2007

Hi! I use gutterman thread I think it is called:-) xx

  • I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS AND YOUR STYLE. WHERE DID U GET YOUR SCARF FROM XX

  • @xxrachelxx123

    Thanks!

    New Look for £2!!

  • @pristymo

You would put it on before you sew the horizontal ribbon across the top so you can sew it in the right place to fit your body. At the moment you can only buy this pattern piece in a size 34 hips ( about UK 8) I will draw it up for anyone requesting other sizes.

Instead of the interfacing you could use pinking shears which stop the edges from fraying too- you can sew right along the pins if they are thin enough. xx

  • @Chancira

yeah - i'd love to see a photo of when you r done!

    carolynbax@hotmail.co.uk x

  • I love the dress! But I think I'm going to change the chest part a bit because I'm a kinda shy person ;)

  • @belochkaforyou

    Hi!

There are some already! Check out my channel page- one shows you how to get big hair- one shows you how to buy and cut the extensions. x

  • can you do a tutorial everything about your hair pls???

  • hi! umm... I was wondering if maybe you could do a dress that's more friendly/comprehensive to larger chested women :)

  • how do you make sure that it fits just right to your body? do you sew the centre of all the interfaces? when you say sew along the pins, you mean literally sewing across them?

  • @Evange

Thanks! Thanks for your comments. xx

  • Great to see you making vids again.

  • @SuchaCaligrrl hi! uploading it now. xx

  • this dress is beautiful!

  • wow love it, love all your vids hahah

  • @niclad07

That's what it is for! for people who want to try sewing out- i would start with an easy dress first- there are a few easier ones on my website. xx

  • Your so talented ! I love the dress but I don't think I could make something like this, I have two left thumbs when it comes to sowing :p

  • @SuchaCaligrrl

It's coming! I have to upload it quick before I leave for my rubbish two night a week job! lol! xx

  • @carolynbax No worries, take care of your business first. I will keep my eye out for it. Thank you very much.

  • Where's Part 2. :( I could not find it on your site.

  • I love that you are very thorough with your instructions. This is very beautiful, thank you for taking the time to share with us.
