The Glazer Bros composition, Grady Martin doing the fancy guitar lead on almost all of Marty's recordings, and this voice, and Marty painted the pictures in song.
I noticed one of the album covers was titled The Bend in the River. That was one of my favorite songs by Marty Robbins. Now I have to search to see if it's on utube. Silly thing. I have the first album I ever bought by Marty which has that song. But I hoping someone has posted a sweet video to go with the music. (grin)
Absolutely fantastic. I remember listening to this and Little Joe The Wrangler with my dad in the mid 70's. Sadly he got rid of the LPs when CDs came in!!!!
All you hear is Marty, back up singers and the guitar. No keyboards, no drum machines just pure talent! I dont see many "artists" doing that these days!!!!!
wat. There are literally infinity singer/guitarists out there with a minimalist acoustic style. You just don't have any interest in new music because you are old and/or curmudgeonly.
@bigoutlaw1 Some of the newer "stars" take a pause in their concerts simply play their instruments with no special effects. Sitting on stage playing and singing. Many show pure talent doing that. Then they ruin it by going back to all the enhancements and ramping it up. Favorite memory.. Lori Morgan in a beige colored suit at a Maine fair on a tiny stage with a small band singing "Something In Red". Year later saw her with all the bells & whistles. Still saw her in Maine in my mind.
I think the golden oldies are better than the modern stuff, and I'm in my early teens. Marty proves that in all of his songs. Thanx fur sharin'! 4 thumbs up!
I heard alot of Marty when I was a kid (late 70's early 80'2) and thought it was country crap...BUT NOW i listen to this and its killer lyric wise.....if it was new it'd be hard rap or metal...the lyrics are hardcore..and the guitar playing is SWEET............
I had Marty Robbins greatest hits on cassette and this is on there but I wore out the tape, cant find the songs from it. Thank you very much for the post!
I second that on under western skies. That is the best collection of music I have ever owned! Marty was so much better than the music we have nowadays.
at 0:10 seconds is that an arabian horse?

Send an email to one of the big games companies (Rockstar would be the most likely to do it) and see what happens.
