Wow! I went to New york on this from Heathrow years ago. I love how Richard Branson names his planes! Is there a video of 'Lady Penelope' anywhere or 'Austin Powered'?
Great video here of my fave aircraft! Ruby Tuesday can also be seen on the ITVV DVD of flight V19 London to San Francisco flown by Captain Alan Carter and First Officers Allan Rattigan and John Cullom in Oct 2000!
WOW, this video is awesome. You really can't rival the grace and individuality of the Boeing 747-400. Also, I've flown on this aircraft, Ruby Tuesday :D
Hey, I was just wondering, when was this filmed, I myself have been on this plane from Manchester to Orlando international airport and I was just wondering if you could tell me when this was filmed? Also, I love watching the planes take off from the Airport pub :) x Thanks x
i love going to birmingham airport to watch the planes but of course you dont get planes as big as a 747 at birmingham so going to manchester airport for the day at this sightseeing spot would be great ! i want to be cabin crew for virgin atlantic they're such a great airline
She used to be based at Heathrow but is no longer based there. I visit Manchester and Heathrow regularly and Ruby Tuesday has never been spotted at Heathrow.
In May, when a 747-400 is switched to an A340-300 Ruby Tuesday may be allocated to Heathrow but it could be Pretty Woman, English Rose or Barbarella too.
Yeah she is based at Manchester/Gatwick. She hasn't been seen at Manchester for a little while - I think because the A340-300 has been put on Manchester services from May 2009.
This spot is located at the Airport Hotel Manchester Airport which is located at the threshold of Runway 23R. Its not a great place to see aircraft take off from (better for landing) but you can get some really good close up shots.
I spent 11 hours on that very plane.. it was very nice, nive IFE and we got seats by galley so could fully recline without annoying anoying anyone, also there is more leg room and the seats are wider than the them of Barbarella.
wow....didnt realise the pub was that close...ill be goin there for deffo...and its soooo much closer than the viewing park......aaawesome fella well done.
whta a nice hobby- is this manchester, also whos-BMI- a short haul airline like flyby- do they fly from manchester too. is -XL AIRLINES -still flyin, they are a hoilday type carrier like thomas cook- nice vid.
This is Manchester. It's filmed from the Airport Hotel beer Garden. BMI is a long and short haul operator but has recently moved all its long haul operations to Heathrow. BMI Regional and BMI Baby flights still operate from Manchester as far as i'm aware. XL have now collapsed and no longer operate.
VIRGIN ATLANTIC plans to have a Hub for the Americas from Costa Rica in Lib Int. We hope to have the Virgin Atlantic Costa Rica covered the Americas and Europe. Good Luck
Thanks I live in Vegas and I know that ther is a road that is not busy wer u can watch all the jets commin in. Ther is also a Virgin flight 747-400 that comes in at about 1 to 2 oclock each day. thanks.
This is Manchester Airport in the North West of England, UK. Manchester Airport is renowned for it's viewing facilities. This video was shot from the Airport Hotel Beer Garden. At the other end of the Runway an official viewing park allows you to see a lot more action on both runways at the same time. If you have a look through the videos on my channel you will see videos from the Airport Hotel and Official Viewing Park. Well worth a look if you like close ups.
For my first 60 video's on my channel I used a JVC GZ MG-330 which is a pretty basic camera. In videos where I have used editing techniques I used the bundled software which is Called Cyberlink Power Director 5. It's a great camera apart from night filming where it becomes pretty poor, but it has 30GB hard drive. I recommend it.
I have just bought a Sony Handycam DCR-SR210 so all my new videos will be filmed with this.
Thanks for your comment, i'm glad you liked the video.
Great vid! Thanks for sharing. I guess you figured that there would have been no point in filming the next jet that taxiing to the runway as nothing beats the sight of a 747-400 taking off! They are the Queen of the skies!!
I don't get it, the planes have names? Like the monkeys/gorillas bag tags have names on the kipling bags?

Im going to California in a few weeks on this plane :) how long does it take from London to California ?
Emz14x 3 years ago
London Heathrow (LHR) to Los Angeles International (LAX) takes 11 hours 30 mins. LAX to LHR takes 10 hours 30 mins.
These figures are taken directly off the Virgin booking site and are based on the flight times of an Airbus A340-600.
LHR to San Francisco takes 11 hours 5 mins. San Francisco to LHR takes 10 hours 10 mins.
Again these figures are taken off the booking site but based on a Boeing 747-400.
You won't be on Ruby Tuesday though as this is based at Manchester/Gatwick only.
