GREAT recording! But, just as a point of order: this song is an "answer" song to "Sailing Down the Chesapeake Bay." The "Old Dominion Line" referred to is the steamer line that connected Balto, Washington, Norfolk and Richmond--not the transatlantic Dominion Line. Still, some great graphics!
I kind of like hearing Arthur Collins doing the lead for a change. You know that Collins and Burr did not get along. One of the reasons why Collins eventually left the group.
I know that Burr and Murray did not get along well, but was unaware that Burr also had a strained relationship with Collins. Perhaps Burr was not easy to get along with. Collins was the lead singer on the early Peerless Quartet records, so I was surprised to hear him taking the lead on a 1916 record!
Unless you can get your hands on the 43 years' worth of Hobbies magazine in which Ulysses ("Jim") Walsh's "Favorite Pioneer Recording Artists" columns appeared.

Good song. However, I prefer Henry Burr as lead singer.

I recently read about in in Tim Gracyk's book. It was in the section on Henry Burr.

Tim Gracyk's book is probably the ultimate resource for information on popular pioneering recording artists.
