Heavy Lesnar doesn't have the experience as Mir, Fedor, and other HW
205 Evans will struggle with the technical guys with decent power like he did w/ Forrest. Rampage striking getting cleaner Machida is a technical animal.
185 Silva might just retire as champ
170 GSP is getting away from his striking making him less a danger and more prone to strikers like Thiago Alves
155 BJ retiring soon as stated after GSP fight. don't see anyone at 155 being strong enough to control him like Gsp
Mirr's going to beat Lesner, it hits ground, Mirr wins,and against nog Mir's stand up looked great so i think he's got lesner. Rashad beat forrest(which was dissapointing) Rampage can beat rashad, maybe manchida. Anderson Silva,I think Patrick Cote could have beat Silva,I thought Silva was kinda scared of Cote's knockout power,if his knee hadn't poped he could have won. GSP will beat Penn, Alves will be the challenge. Florian could be Penn, it'll be tough though.
Silva is a champ for a reason and I don't see many people at 185 being able to beat him.
GSP WILL get beat if him and Tiago Alvez go at it. BJ Penn could beat him and if that happens, I personally believe that Tiago Alvez would rock BJ's world, in a bad way. In my opinion Alvez is the best fighter at 170, period.
BJ Penn at lightweight is a ridiculous match up for any of the fighters. His flexibility and other awkward positions he poses to people is really just something you can't train for.
such a great athlete. Like others have stated Wandy, Chuck, a lot of people have the power to beat him, but Griffin is a very good, technical striker. He wears his opponent down and usually does it in a pretty convincing fashion.
Anderson Silva.. I don't care what anyone says, from what I've seen from Silva I don't see anyone able to beat him. Getting him to his back or not, he's a maniac. Even if he does go to his back I've seen him produce great up kicks and many, many submission attempts.
In my opinion if Lesnar keeps improving on his skills like he has been I don't see many people able to deal with his size and strength, it's just unmatched in the UFC to be honest. Like stated, someone with good submissions will be able to pose a big problem for him though.
Forest Griffin is a big guy, I never realized how big he really was until I saw him fighting Rampage. His kicks are amazing for a 205 and his overall skills are pretty wild. Rashad Evans does have a change, just being
There will always be some one who will come along and beat the champs. I remember when Tim Sylvia first won the HW title i dont think anyone could beat such a huge strong guy. Same with Chuck, and Matt Hughes.
people say travis lutter ... ohh he mounted silva ... silvas jitz sucks... well travis is one of the best jitz guys in mma . his top game is amazing . yes his work ethic sucks but his jitz is the shit
great picks . i agree with every pick except GSP . if u look at it . His striking is one of if not his strongest point . and he keeps all his aspects level so that he has an advantage everywhere . u cant take him out of his comfort zone cuz he's comfortable anywhere . that being said , i honestly dont see him getting beaten soon .but since he is good at everything , the only way to beat a well rounded fighter is with a well rounded fighter . BJ will give him a good fight,but i give it to GSP :)
You still don't think Machida will get a title shot if he beats Silva. I really want him to get a shot. Boring yes to most, not me but a win is a win. I want to see the best fight the best not the most marketable vs the other marketable fighters. Good vid like always!!
I'm not generally a betting man, but I'll take Nogueira over Lesnar any day... and, if we're including non-UFC fighters, I'd take Fedor over either;
Although I like Forest, I think Machida is a touch better. Unfortunately for Machida, only serious fight fans enjoy watching his technical style... so it may be a while before Machida gets the chance he deserves;
Anderson, GSP, and BJ all look pretty good at the top of their respective weight classes.
i love how people make vague picks n dont elaborate. wandy has a good chance in the stand up aspect. problem is wandy isnt great technically as a striker. he has massive power and speed, but he is to wild for the likes of griffin. wandy would really need to pick his engagements and commit to them, wandy can def. bring it full force! but not overall well rounded fighter. griffin CAN eat big punches n keep his composure he has underated ground game huge 205 guy who cuts down from 240 lbs
i totally agree, thats why its a rock paper scissors situation between rampage liddell and silva
but if wand comes swinging, uses his wild swinging to set up take downs he will definately win. but then of course, wand is really stubborn and wants to stand there and punch...so
Hard to disagree on the GSP matchups. I feel that guys with sort of aggressive as well as technical striking could give GSP some troube; they need some awesome takedown defense as well, and BJ and Alves both have that.
Good topic and nice picks. Bit of a Kang fan so I hope your right. Think your dead on about Lesnar and Forrest, but could have examined more possible guys for BJ.
I don't see a weakness at all in GSP's game. I think out of all fighters he is the most well rounded(great cardio,strength,takedowns,BJJ,wrestling) Even his striking is superior to most. His only negative was his mental approach to certain fights. He's beaten every opponent he has ever faced,revenging losses to Hughes & Serra in convincing fashion,dominated Fitch for 5 rounds. As long as he maintains his work ethic and stays healthy I don't see him losing to non top 10 pound for pound fighters.
i agree with all of the picks but when you were describing Forrests weaknesses i thought for sure you were gonna say Wanderlei because you described him perfectly
BJs cardio seems fine now, I think his biggest problem is that he doesn't check leg kicks now for some reason. Sherk hit him with 17, if Ken flo gets that many on him BJ's going to have a problem, but if BJ didn't start checking them it was probably because they weren't damaging him.
Good video! I think if we're going to talk about guys outside the UFC then I think Gegard Mousasi and Matt Lindland can give Silva problems on the mat. Mousasi has that ground game and is an experienced kickboxer so he'd know how to avoid the big strikes from Silva on the feet. I'd really like to see Dana bring him in.
I feel a little let down that all you did was list the number one contenders, or simply the fighter's next opponents. With exception of Anderson Silva. I expect more from you young man. I understand that things are hectic for you right now though... So I still rated it a 5.
lol machida just won the title and rampage wuld smack the fuck outta griffin

I disagree with metaldude, I see Brock Lesnar TKOing Mir in the 1st or 2nd round.

idk, i personally hate lesner, but ya never know.

Great vid, you got really good pics and i also think that if Rampage got another shot he'll beat Forrest.

when anderson fought travis lutter he had both of his knees jacked up before the fight
nobody knew it but even if you never fight at 100%
silva was more like 60% for that fight
