  • A-Ha, Nazareth. The covers are crap

  • JEFFSTER!!

  • Thanks for the video. I like much, again thanks.

  • i think nazareth's version is the worst, no need to constipate yourself to sing a brokenheart song. however i think, jason donovan did better version.

  • comparisons are odious and not relevant!!!! This song, however is a perfect, piece of music!

  • Love Nazareth and Everly Brother's Version. But the best....Roy Orbison.

  • Everly Brothers were not the first the couple that actually wrote the song recorded it along with a few other hits and sent them to record companies trying to sell them. They wrote 1500 songs between the two of them or colaborations with other artists. No other writer/writers have had more songs chart.

  • THis is real music not all that loud music we have today, lets get this style back

  • When you hear singing like this, you realize how original and talented these guys were for their time. Thanks for posting

  • @silverandgold0129 They were an inspiration for groups that followed such as the Hollies.

  • nothing can beat the way the original guys played it but i like Orbsion version better

  • Truly great music - not like much of the stuff they feed the teens and younger today!

  • @antdigger No they didn't. Take a look when the Everly Brothers recorded this.

  • Nazareth's overblown arrangement can't compare with the understated beauty of the Everlys.

  • @ronfowlermusic poppycock.

Love is like a flame > Love is like a stove

  • @antdigger Nazareth did a cover

  • @antdigger Are you an adult??? This was 1960 hmmmmmmmmmmmmm

  • @antdigger this is possibly the dumbest comment i have ever seen. i just.... you can even HEAR it's older

  • @antdigger light another one up why don't ya

  • @antdigger damn time travelers should be ashamed.

  • @antdigger retard

  • the big o's is my favourite

  • Every cover is a Validation... for the depths a Song Writer LIVES to Share what we all feel , without the words and melody to identify

  • Gram & Emmy Lou Harris did the best next to Roy !!! then Naz then everlys

  • Nazareth version is totally diffrent, both are not comparable.

  • @kaaarolinkaaa

neither are they not comparable? They are "incomparable", surely!

I like both, when compared...oh, wait....

  • @champino003 How about Ricky Nelson's cover of "Unchained Melody"?

  • Thanks for posting great music

  • I think nazareth's version is more sensible, but this is very good too.

  • Lot of entertainers have done this beautiful, but the Everly Brothers stand alone!

  • All this time I thought Nazareth wrote this song -__-. But I'm sooo happy to know that the Everly Bros sang this before them (: Thanks to them, I'm a Buddy Holly fan now.

  • How True!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • These guys were the inspiration for many of the Beatles songs.. Lennon and McCartney were huge fans.

  • love is just a lie

  • See the video of Keith Richards and Nora Jones at the Gram Parsons tribute. Then hear Gram and Emmylou duet.

  • @woundedduck75 Just made the same journey back to here. I started with Joan Jett's version. lol

  • beutiful song

  • I love these guys, I'm a huge Buddy Holly fan who caught on to these guys because of their friendship.

  • great song and spezial thanks to catman916

  • I've been told that I should like the Nazereth version more because you can "feel the pain" , "the misery", "the torture". I always respond with the line. "I don't think the writers ever intended this to be a suicide ballad, it's fine how it is. Every Brothers rock"!

  • Catman916. I Have Never Heard This Song Done By The Everly Brothers.. Very Nice, Thank You Very Much.....

  • 2 dislike idiots

  • beautiful song <3 <3 <3

  • Back when music was about talent and last ability not looks or businesse

  • @Freyja1133 I also love Roy Orbison and just listened to his version. Still love the Everly Brothers.

  • This is better than nazareth, cause im a girl, so i dont like all the hard heavy rock in nazareth's version, this is alot more sad and romantic.

  • @1wolfiesLady Listen to Gram Parsons & Emmylou Harris doing this song.

  • nazareth made an amazing cover

  • @kylebriffa7 surely, but I prefer the original song

  • @kylebriffa7 I also like Nan Vernon's cover... It appears in Halloween II Rob Zombie one

  • Jacob Lusk should have sung this version rather than Nazareth. He oversang Nazareth version. By doing this version, I think, Jacob has no chance to oversing the song.

  • @lexsoft Totally agree, I didn't think there was another person on this whole planet that thought that Jacob 'oversings'. This version would have been perfect for him, even though he's not my favorite.

  • I just listened to Nazareth's version of this song. To me, he has a horrible scratchy voice and I couldn't understand a word he sang. No comparison. Phil & Don are superior!

  • @loveurcat that also may be because he ( dan Nccafery) has a scotch burr... this accent would make it difficult for anyone to understand he sang

  • @loveurcat that also may be because he ( dan Nccafery) has a scotch burr... this accent would make it difficult for anyone to understand he sang

HAve you listened to Roy Orbisons cover of the same song?

  • I have many of their albums and 45s. They were among the very best in their time and even now. They had their own sound, which has not been copied. I still listen to them - my favories were So Sad, Devoted to You and Let it be Me. I wish they would record again.

  • @yrbabuena me too :)

  • i never like Nazaraths version, i prefer the brothers :)

  • i didnt know this is the original...my goodness nazareth has a great rendition....everly brothers one of the legends and respected entertainers....learn a lot from you tube ....thanks.

  • These were an awesome duo. They made us kids happy in those days...Rebecca

  • True, True, True..Love Hurts, though and it hurts to say goodbye too..

  • This is one of the nicest versions of' Love Hurts'. The Harmony just can't be compared to other renditions of the song. Good choice to put on here! Thanks.

  • another great song.

  • thank you for sharing

  • LOVE THIS VERSION. WONDERFUL HARMONIES AS USUAL.

  • One word, sublime!

  • Grab the audio from this track at soundnabber doht cohm.

  • I prefer Nazareth. This is a song that should be sung with great power.

  • @cdorresteijn

I don't know you pays your money and you make your choice, but to each thier own

  • I love their hair :-)

  • I learned something today, and it is Nazareth didn't write this song. Wow, Naz were my inspiration but the Everly Brothers must have been their's. Thanks for posting!

  • That's funny to think Nazareth wrote this song! Their version makes me cringe in pain, Nazareth HURTS.

  • @jmzfactor Do your really think Nazareth wrote this song??? ( "Love Hurts" written and composed by Felice and Boudleaux Bryant was recorded by The Everly Brothers in July 1960) ...when looking up songs...do you ever read any of the info ppl post or just make comments without thinking.....many songs are just re-versions of songs from the past.....think before you write and never assume anything.....

  • @LADYLAUREA , I wasn't saying Nazareth wrote this song. I was saying it was funny that someone thought they wrote it, and that their version hurt my ears. I don't know how old you are, but I heard the Everly's version AND Gram Parsons and Emmylou's version of this before Nazareth ever butchered it.

  • Ok, I'll admit I'm old...but I still say we lost a lot when the Beatles wiped away so many of these greats from popularity. It was way too soon.

  • @624787John : Unfortunately, I believe this was never released as a single.

  • So far i only knew Gram Parsons' version which is far the best imo. This is the first time i listened to the original E.B. version and i'm terribly disappointed. Usually the original versions are the best, but not in this case. This is just a light-minded,half-hearted version recorded by 2 young man. O.K. for teenagers but that's all. Nothing more, nothing less. This is not adult material.

  • @draggonheart your retared this is the best version next to incubus.. but for you to say half hearted what are you talking about there supposed to be all excited and up beat and intense lol not that kinda song.moron

  • sorry, but tjhis song can't ever be done better--priceless !

  • i like both versions, even having grown up listening to the everly bros and actually liveing thru the 60's and hearing all the music between then and now.

BUT WHO IN THE HELL IS JUSTINE BEIBERS?

  • Best version of this song. The fast version is disappointing.

  • Justine Beibers is the thing today eh little wimp

  • Yeah, Nazereth made it their own.

  • ..The Everly Bros made 2 versions of this written by " Roy Orbison " song.. this is their SLOW version...

thanks for sharing, Let's Stay Devoted !!

    Erik Tielman, Floridadadaaa

  • Hey! This is the first time I ever heard this old version IMAGINE? I was so used to the one by Nazareth. I thought they wrote it. This is such a calmer version. Easier to listen too. The one by Nazareth makes me feel like cring to much. This version makes painful memories seem far away, like it was all such a along time ago. It maybe because the version is older from the 50's (hee hee) Must be some self psycology at work, but it does the right trick if you'll notice.

  • sorry but the nazareth version is better theres just a sound missing in this one sorry people! lol

  • @Bassisbeastiful Check out the Gram Parsons version.

  • @Bassisbeastiful Some fools fool themselves, I guess. ;o)

  • This is music of the heart. It can heal wounds.I luv it.

  • Listening to this is like being in heaven . . . This is what music should be like !

  • Absolutely best harmony on this beautiful song sung by my ever favourite, Don & Phil...beautiful!!!

  • Very nice song...indeed.

  • WOW...For 2 minutes..I was in heaven..

  • Don't they sound great!!

  • Was machen die eigentlich heute

  • Not many remember or know that Nazareth's biggest hit was actually a cover. Great song.

  • While this is indeed a great and original version, I can't help myself. Nazareth's take was the one I gravitated toward some 14 or 15 years later ! Of course, I'll will always be a Phil and Don fan !

  • The EB s have spoiled me for other musical artists. I have given up trying to find other singers who could sound as good and entertain so professionally every time they perform ! Thanks so much for posting this - It is one of their best!.

  • @justmusicandme Thank you for sharing this wonderful song with me.

    ---------Ellen

  • @ebfan41

Mary, have you heard Emmylou Harris' version. I also uploaded it.

  • Thank you so much for posting this version - it has been difficult to find! But sooo worth it! This is just beautiful!!

  • BEST version of this song - even better than other Everly versions! Thanks for putting this up!

  • Thank you so much.

  • You're welcome, ajarnmichael.
