If God forced us not to choose evil, what love would that be for us to be compelled against our will? He wanted us to choose Him and we failed. However, out of true love He laid His life down for us (and rose back to eternal life after three days) so that we could be saved from an eternal punishment after we pass away. He saved us from the evil we made.
