Another video convicted Criminal James O'Keefe had an actor call a school principal and the actor said he was a parent with a special needs kid who had a teacher call him racial terms. This incident was not true and criminal O'Keefe published the principal's name because the "teacher wasn't removed right away" (so much for innocent till proven guilty I guess)

@hipstermi So to answer the question, it's not so much as opposing homosexuality (although I'm sure many people don't agree with it) as it is about "preserving marriage". And they see it as between a man and a woman from their holy book(s). Do I agree? Not necessarily, but gay marriage is a very very very low political priority on my list, it probably ranks slightly above abortion. My solution is this, give civil unions the same legal benefits. But then again that's from someone who doesn't care

AND...there's a lot of things the Bible teaches about, like divorce, liquor, etc. that conservatives do NOT try to make illegal.
If one thinks it's a "sin"...then just don't marry a gay person. If you think drinking or marrying a black person is a sin, dont do it.

@hipstermi Well it doesn't, and it actually couldn't being that places like Egypt and Israel were "melting pots" in their own right. So to say the bible teaches against that would say that the people who followed it the closest also didn't care to follow that out. So It probably doesn't.
And you have to remember I don't believe in the sanctity of marriage, i'm playing devils advocate. I'm just saying that I can at least respect the opinion of someone who is anti-gay marriage.

@hipstermi You have to understand that interracial marriage is attempting to define what a human being is though, it's completely different it's why black civil rights were a lot different then gay "rights". I don't even think the right to marry is a civil right, but none the less, it'll pass eventually. So to argue it intensely is a pretty moot point anyways

Now I again, support anyone to adopt as long as they're a suitable parent. But some people believe that a child deserves a mother and father figure, not I mind you. So just remember, if someone disagrees with you on something, it isn't always (and it seldom is) from a position of hatred. Once I learned this, and you know anything about economics I immediately

@hipstermi But, like I previously stated humans of different "races" have been interbreeding throughout all of human history, so to say interracial marriage is the same as gay marriage isn't even close. They don't match up, one was about the definition of what is a human being, and the other is about should a man marry another man? Personally I say yes, but personally I don't really care very much.

when one group can get away with discriminating another you should be worried because it might be one of YOUR groups next.
Outside of that, I believe this ties into separation of church and state, which many on the right has been trying to eradicate.

I support a gays right to a ceremony as long as it doesn't infringe on someone else's right NOT to partake in a ceremony. But it is legal for gays to have ceremonies last time I checked, it's the legal side that is in debate.
I'm an athiest and I recognize that it's wrong to force a church to marry someone, or a business to serve someone.

Example: The Metropolitan Community Churches have many homosexual delegates who they would like to marry, however their respective state governments will not allow them to do as they please.
