They managed to win every game prior to this, but had way too many close calls against bad teams. They got in the game as a result of the Boise factor the previous season which is a poor decision by the voters.

Hawaii's offensive tackes were totally outclassed by the UGA defensive ends. UGA's DE just had WAY too much speed. If you watch UGA's DE were flying right by Hawaii's offensive tackles before they even had a chance to get a block or a hand on them. Hawaii had some great WR and a great QB. But they got destroyed at the line of scrimmage. Hawaii never really had a chance with the Offensive line they had.

Our fans (Hawai'i) didn't get mad because honestly, we felt as if we won before the first kickoff ever began. It was a win, win situation for us.
Coming from the WAC conference & being the underdog little island in the middle of the south pacific sea & facing a highly respected team like the Bulldogs in the SUGAR BOWL was already a blessing for us.
Although our team didn't win the game, we won in our hearts.

Put Boise against Bama and see what happens. The battle is won up front where the SEC fields 300 pound linemen.

This crap performance wasn't really Brennan's fault. Georgia was getting great pressure even when they were only rushing 3-4, which meant that unless a DB blew his assignment, everybody was going to be covered. This was totally on the putrid Hawaii OL, which turned in a totally limp performance

what? how would you think the sec was best after this? Hawaii had no right being in this game. If you even look at what Hawaii did during the year, they sucked. They managed to win every game prior to this, but had way too many close calls against bad teams. They got in the game as a result of the Boise factor the previous season which is a poor decision by the voters.

@armyaviationproud I agree. Boise state wasn't even that good that year. In fact that was the worst Boise State team in the past 5 years. That year was the season with all the crazy upsets. Like App State over Michigan, and Pitt over West Virginia. For cripes sake a TWO loss LSU made the title game. Hawaii got in based on a ridiculously easy schedule and a year when many of the top teams lost.

Hawaii's offensive tackes were totally outclassed by the UGA defensive ends. UGA's DE just had WAY too much speed. If you watch UGA's DE were flying right by Hawaii's offensive tackles before they even had a chance to get a block or a hand on them. Hawaii had some great WR and a great QB. But they got destroyed at the line of scrimmage. Hawaii never really had a chance with the Offensive line they had.

@ilovefrankandbeans-do you listen? in the video, it says he's sacked less than 30 times in over 600 pass attempts that season. of course, those skilled receivers, quarterbacks and linemen aren't that skilled anymore once they played against the big boys (SEC, Big-12, etc)
