Has anyone noticed that the white part in CS stippling brush is longer than that in the Mac 187?So, I tried something with the CS pink stippling brush..I trimmed the white part..a teeny bit ( about 2 mm) and I can really get the airbrushed effect with liquid foundation...it looks better than it was earlier!

the 187 and the 188 from MAC are the very same brush.. obviously the only difference is the size, but they do the same thing.. if u use the 188 for foundation, it will take u longer because it doesn't cover as much of ur face as the 187. i personally have not tried using either brush with the mousse foundation, but u also have other options like using the kabuki brush and buffing that into your skin.. i've seen ppl do that and the coverage from the kabuki is amzing.. i hope that helps..
I have the CS pink brush...I loved it with for my MUFE and clinique liquid foundations..I think if you have a decent liquid foundation from a good brand all you need is a $7.95 stippling brush! lol
i recently purchased the mac 187 because the mac sa said i could use it for bronzer and blush application. i dont use foundation. so i bought it and am using it for my powder bronzer but im not sure if im useing it right because im not able to get alot of product on my face. hence it requires more time. what do you think? did i buy the brush for the wrong purpose?
using a stippling brush is best for light application of foundation, be it liquid or powder, and bronzers too. a stippling brush is not used to pick up a lot of product. it's best used for sheer application such as loose powder or blushes. if you're using this brush to apply liquid foundation,you will see that it won't pick up a lot of product either. i don't know what you're more concerned with...coverage or more product picked up by the brush?
i'd get the MAC 167 because it's stiffer than the coastal scents so i have more control with application...but if you're in a budget, you can get the one from coastal scents... :)
I recently purchased the CS Pink Stippling brush and I was it 2x only and it has shed alot!! I mean ridiculously...even when I use tit to apply my liquid foundation. I am very gentle with my brushes but yeah...is it just me or do you have the same experience?
hi cammy, yes i did experience that but it stopped shedding on me after several washes...just give it time..or if you're not satisfied with it, you can always call coastal scents and tell them what your concern is, maybe they can send you another one... :)

I got a different stippling from Coastal Scents it only arrived today. and has a black stick so it looks a bit more like the mac one. but bcuz i don't own a Mac I can't compare them :))
hi :) um when you apply your f0undation using the stippling brush, do you put the foundation ON the brush ; or you put it on your face first, then you blend all over?
i actually put the foundation on the back of my hand and take my brush and get the color from it, then apply it on my face...sometimes, i use a disc and put the foundation on it.. :)

thanks sweetie! actually i haven't tried the newer stippling brush from CS which is the black one. i don't have it yet but i'm planning to order it soon. but i heard that it's a lot better than the pink one and the first stippling brush they came out with. i suggest you go and get it if you want a heavier, more professional looking brush. the pink brush is really light weight although i don't have a problem with that.
i think fafinettex3 has a video talking about how much she loves the black SB from CS so you might wanna check that out... :) she has great videos too! <3

yeah i washed mine first like i normally do with all my brushes when i first buy them...just always always make sure you wash them thoroughly before using it on your face... :)

:) you're so cute! i bought the black long handled stippling brush (the first one) and it wasnt great :( the bristles were just so short and thin. then i got the pink one..and, i dont know, maybe it's just mine, but i cant use it for liquid AGAIN :( i love their flat badger bronzer brush though!! Coastal Scents discontinued the super long handle black one. I actually like the new black version with the black chrome ferrel it's the same size as the pink one, looks more "professional", has a much better weight to the brush than the pink one.. and the white bristles of it actually are stiffer than the pink one... and most importantly it sheds less :)

i don't have MAC 188 so i cannot compare them..but yes you can use any stippling brush for any kind of liquid or gel or mousse foundations...

Does the stippling brush used with foundation give you full coverage or light coverage?

i'd say even coverage and if you want a heavier foundation, you can always just build it up... :)

hi :) um when you apply your f0undation using the stippling brush, do you put the foundation ON the brush ; or you put it on your face first, then you blend all over?

i actually put the foundation on the back of my hand and take my brush and get the color from it, then apply it on my face...sometimes, i use a disc and put the foundation on it.. :)

hello, new viewer here =) i actually just r'cd my order of brushes from CS. i ordered both the pink and the black stippling brush and ur right, the black is super long! but im not one who goes super close to the mirror when im doing my makeup so i guess thats ok. cant wait to try them out tomorrow. i really like ur eye makeup in this video! what did you use?

oh thanks dear! :) i used nyx shadows here and i did make a video on how to create this look and it's called frosted plum eyes with nyx lilac.. :)
i'm glad you got your brushes already... ;) i think the black ones are not supposed to have longer handle anymore coz they came out with a newer and improved version of their black stippling brush... :)

what?! i feel so jipped! i didnt know they were coming out with a new stippling brush, i could have just waited =( oh well. but comparing the pink to the black one, i like the pink better. the black one i find too soft. but nothing beats my mac 187, diba! i still prefer the 187. anyway, i really enjoy your vids. pls keep making them! you're my bagong idol =) lol!

thanks sweetie! actually i haven't tried the newer stippling brush from CS which is the black one. i don't have it yet but i'm planning to order it soon. but i heard that it's a lot better than the pink one and the first stippling brush they came out with. i suggest you go and get it if you want a heavier, more professional looking brush. the pink brush is really light weight although i don't have a problem with that.

yeah i washed mine first like i normally do with all my brushes when i first buy them...just always always make sure you wash them thoroughly before using it on your face... :)

i did a video on foundation application using a MAC 187. it's a stippling brush as well and the application process is just the same as when you use coastal scents stippling brush. :) you can check out that video... :)

:) you're so cute! i bought the black long handled stippling brush (the first one) and it wasnt great :( the bristles were just so short and thin. then i got the pink one..and, i dont know, maybe it's just mine, but i cant use it for liquid AGAIN :( i love their flat badger bronzer brush though!! LOVE it! but i want another stippling brush :( but it's like $9 or something to ship to australia. oh well. everything here is so damn expensive! MAC Fafi is like $72!lol

omg that's a lot for mac! haha! but you know what, coastal scents came up with a new stippling brush, it's new and improved and it also has black handle and more professional looking and sheds a lot less than their first version. i'm so gonna order that!!! :) but yeah shipping there could be a pain huh...that sucks!

Coastal Scents discontinued the super long handle black one. I actually like the new black version with the black chrome ferrel it's the same size as the pink one, looks more "professional", has a much better weight to the brush than the pink one.. and the white bristles of it actually are stiffer than the pink one... and most importantly it sheds less :)
