i'm confused... another website said eight was "isishiyagolombili" as opposed to "isificamunwembili", and nine was diferent too. also, some of the "ku" beginnings were instead "isi" (e.g. "isihlanu"). could you clarify this? does this just depend on the dialect?
@BonganiMasilela Yes that is correct Bongani - we are direct descendents of the Zulu tribe - migrated North when King Mzilikazi split from uTshaka in the 1800ds.. he settled in the North of Zimbabwe - now called Matebeleland - and although both our languages are called isiNdebele, there are big differences in how it sounds when you speak. Because of the decent from Zulu tribe isiNDebele spoken in North remains very closely related to isiZulu, if you come to our website you will read the history.
@BonganiMasilela Well Bongani - This is Ndebele actually - as taken from the Official Ndebele Dictionary Isichazamazwi Sesindebele by Samukele Hadebe - College Press - 2001 - Sithandathu, Likhomba, bunane - Lithoba and Litjhumi are definitely Not isiNdebele, those sound more like Sisotho, Remember we are teaching Isindebele From Zimbabwe ( Northern Ndebele) You may be referring to Southern Ndebele, of which I am not too familiar - so i cannot say - BUT we are definitely teaching the correct thin
@BonganiMasilela Nah, YisiNdebele with a bad accent. She can't pronunce the tshi part of her words. Probably a white women showing her linguistic skills. Or lack of.
