  • and this was only the beginning...

  • Next Best Trick for him: Greg's Flip Varial

  • travis pastrana back then was the brett banasiewicz of fmx, still is solid tho

  • This run would be like 4 in freestyle now it just goes to show how quickly the sports progressed

  • Hold on. Travis only got a 98 for the double backflip didn't he?? That goes to show the progression of this sport in the last 10 years.

  • i tought him. when i was 7.

  • 15 !? What the hell ! I just turned 16....and when this guy was 1 year younger he was at the X-Games. Pastrana.................your the greatest the sport has seen.

  • ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, is he only 15 here??

  • how come evryone remember ryan sheckler and how he was th youngest this is th wear th skill is

  • 3 things to bear in mind watching this:

    1. It was the 1st ever moto x event at the x games!

    2. travis was only 15!!! at the time.

    3. it was 11 years ago. - still a good run even now.

  • bad audio

  • Now, Pastrana does all that stuff only upside-down, and he can't even get above 95? What's up with that judges?

Even still, I only wish I could do half, scratch that, a quarter of that stuff that he did.

  • Why is the audio on EVERY ESPN video destroyed?

  • @Calibur43 a lot of ppl been sayin that but its sounds fine to me

  • im 15 and my best moto x trick that ive done is a superman seat grab. he is just the best

  • im 15 right now. i could never do that!! O.O

  • Insanely! Awesomee!

  • naw he got a 98 for the double backflip

  • @MindWrecked still highest score ever in best trick ;)

  • @ANNIEBANNANIE1111 this is true haha

  • did he get a 100 for the double backflip?

  • @TWITCH772 still highest score ever in best trick ;)

  • i think thats like one of the highest scores in x games history

  • could he have gotten a higher score? i mean, does the scoring go higher? can you get a 100?

  • I belive so

  • WOW!! i hope i get to see the run/trick that gets a perfect 100!

  • that is some thing that i hope i get to see one day

  • He has this sport hardwired into his brain. There will never ever be anyone like him

  • @stigmabuster22 that's true that is something he knows how to do he didn't want to become a freestyle...he was born with that is just something he got in the blood.

  • @stigmabuster22 never

1000 years from now people are gonna still be talkin about him

  • moto x is mad boring before the backflips and spins.. i use to hate watching it

  • DAMN

  • motox before the backflip - still solid

  • this guy's a natural. love to watch him ride. i think i was at this xgames....

  • damn unbelievable at 15....hes amazing... how old is he now???

  • well this was 99...and he was 15....math time XD

  • 25 years old now

  • i tink hes 24 or 25

  • lol ? + 10 years its not that hard

  • that was awesome, I was like 8 when that happen, i remember that run, it was awesome.

  • It's so crazy to know that I was there for this and how long ago this was.

  • It's funny to watch this now. It seem kinda tame compared to the stuff they do now. I remember when the backflip was like the holy grail. Now they do it likes it's a wheelie. LOL!!

  • cant wait to see some double variations xD

  • I can't wait to see a front flip.

  • someone tried it in either 2008 or 2007 and slammed hard

  • yep, Jim DeChamp. I wonder what the judges would score higher; Pastrana's flippy twisty thingy (backflip 360?), or a front flip.

  • I was there for this and after he won the gold he jumped his bike out of the park, off the pier, and into the bay. Surprised the highlight reel didn't show that.

  • I swear to God my Aunt lives right down the street from were Travis grew up in Annapolis, Maryland. I used to see him riding around as a little kid all the time. To think he grew up to win the X-games and pull a double-back flip. DAMN!

  • and more to come maybe

  • Wow that young and is 1 point away from a perfect score, never seen it before, amazing.

  • awesome!!!!!!!!!!!

  • its amazing how young he was

  • pretty cool
