  • Deliciosa.

  • how wonderful ! Dame Kiri has always had the ability to effortlessly switch gears, so to speak, between musical genres from operatic performance to musical theatre and even pop stylings. this early recording showcases a beauty of tone that has always been a hallmark of her art. many thnx, thecelticinme, for this 5* posting. :))

  • Thanks for your comment.

  • Julie Andrews is NOT a "Silly British Fool." Shame on you for saying that! She does sound like her in this instance.

  • Errr... take it easy. No need to be impolite with

swanningaround nor Julie Andrews, please. Thank you.

  • I was thinking the same thing. I think it is more that incredibly beautifully clear gentle sound that transports one into pleasantville. Also her diction is as amazingly clear as JA's. It's interesting, this was released the same year as ' Sound of Music. The chances are that they would have heard each other at that stage are slim. If the guys from 20th Cent Fox had heard this recording, who knows where Kiri would have ended up and, for that matter what would have become of Julie :)

  • @Cedricfollyman

You comparison peers with apples and this is wrong.

  • She sounds like Julie Andrews here.

  • She already sounds like a soprano here. This should be one of the later recordings on the album right?

  • Lovely..could i trouble to upload the track "do not go my love"- she does a great job i think in conveying the melancholy
